$1,027,000 RAISED FOR YOUCAN!!!!
An absolutely incredible effort by the Sony Foundation team at this year's Brissy4Ward on Thursday. It's the first event outside of Sydney to crack $1m and coincides with the Foundation reaching another massive milestone of funding over 50,000 nights of free accommodation to regional youth cancer patients that have to travel to the city for treatment.

I can't tell you how proud I am to be involved in these events and help the Patrick Withers team. Even though I occasionally and inexplicably get paint no where near its intended home, they still keep me around so I'm eternally grateful 🤗

Happy National volunteer Week!
Today I did my bit by being a human sign post for Dementia Australia's Memory Walk & Jog. Having worked for a charity I know that without volunteers, less money funds the cause, or things simply just can't happen to facilitate the fundraising.
It was a really fun morning doing something for a cause that means a lot to me. Would highly recommend for the feel good buzz!

Last week was the 2026 APRA Awards celebrating songwriters and publishers, but also the 100 year anniversary of APRAs inception.

Given the gravity of the event and all the extra activities around the milestone, the events team needed a bit of support and I jumped at the chance to help.
Talk about a good show... that was unbelievable. The people, the energy and the performances- I'm still buzzing a week later!
My highlight was definitely The Preset's tribute to the late Rob Hirst, of Midnight Oil. The Presets, then five more drummers on stage, then Peter Garrett himself, then the horns- it was the best closing to an awards I've ever seen. The video doesn't do it justice.

It was incredibly special to work alongside such a passionate team, for such an important event. Very grateful to be part of it.

A belated post, but an important one none the less.
Last week was the annual event in Sydney, raising money for their You Can Stay initiative.
This one is massive, taking months of planning to execute- 850 punters, 7 venues, council DAs, Wharf Management, live performances, a full week of activity around bumping-in/out and show day, but all worth it in the end.

The SFA team raised an incredible record breaking $1.665M that will go directly to funding free accommodation for regionally based youth cancer patients that have to travel to the city for treatment.
Regional patients are 1.3 times more likely to die from cancer than their urban counterparts. This funding means that no matter where in the country they are located, or how long the treatment will take, they and their families can stay together to get that lifesaving treatment.

A big shout-out to for having me on as a Producer again, always a pleasure working with this bunch!

Super excited that I got to be apart of another successful 4Ward event, this time down in Adelaide.

$560,000 was raised going straight to the build of a new You Can Centre at Royal Adelaide Hospital. These centres are built for young cancer patients between the ages of 15-24; too old to go to a pediatric hospital, but too young to be in adult care.
Offering a refuge and place for community to hang out with others going through the same thing, this will be the sixth in Australia. Game changing stuff.
With performances from Illy and Dylan Wright, a panel of local community leaders including Nick Ryan, Tim Jarvis AM and Flavia Tata Nardini, and finally a speech from The Hon. Peter Malinauskas, it was a very fun event and a special one to be part of.

And that is a wrap!
Another year working on the Cannabiz awards and they keep getting bigger and better. Thanks to the dream team, it was a record breaking amount of entries and attendees- all with positive feedback. You've got to be happy with that!

A massive week for the event side of Pickup Your Game, as months of planning culminated in delivering Sony Foundation's 15th Wharf4Ward event.

A record $1.6M was raised for You Can, with funds going to the You Can Stay program. This covers 100% of the accommodation costs for regionally based youth cancer patients when they come to the city for treatment.

It's a monster event with many moving parts- 6 venues, DAs, permits, sponsors, stakeholders and over 800 attendees. Having worked on 6, this was my 3rd as producer with PYG, working alongside Music Box and I think I can say it was the best yet!

Now, if anyone needs me, I may just need to nap for a week...

That is a wrap on this year's Wharf4Ward and I am spent!
A massive effort by Sony Foundation Australia's team to raise over $1.5M for the You Can Stay program. That money will cover 100% of the accommodation costs for regional youth cancer patients and their families when they travel to cities around Australia for their life saving treatment. A crippling cost that affects 1/3 of patients.

Very proud to once again be a Producer on The Music Box team. 7 venues, stage builds, council permits, road closures, resident and building management negotiations, blah blah blah and so on and so forth. It's a monster event that takes months to plan, a week to execute and 50+ people to deliver, but easily the most rewarding event to be apart of.
