2026 AMOS Conference Hobart 16 - 20 February
Risk Frontiers was pleased to attend the 2026 AMOS Conference in Hobart, a leading gathering of atmospheric and ocean scientists from academia, government and industry. The conference showcased the latest advances in climate modelling, extreme events research, and strengthening engagement between science and industry. It was an excellent opportunity to connect with researchers and practitioners working at the forefront of understanding and managing climate risk.
Our team contributed to two important conversations. Dr Maxime Marin presented research on a machine learning–based approach to improve modelling of tropical cyclone wind-field asymmetries, helping enhance the accuracy of risk assessments for severe storms. Dr Stuart Browning co-presented with Dominic Price from AusEnergy Services Limited on findings from a collaborative research project examining the resilience of future electricity infrastructure plans to variable renewable energy lulls under a changing climate. Together, these projects highlight the importance of combining advanced analytics and industry collaboration to support more climate-resilient decision-making.
