We're excited to welcome George Denny-Smith to the Cerulean team as Senior Project Manager.

George brings over a decade of experience across construction, property and project management, with a rare combination of client-side advisory, contractor-side delivery and development experience spanning residential, education, government, commercial, energy and infrastructure projects. Having worked on both sides of the client–contractor relationship, he brings a practical, structured approach, identifying issues early and bringing clarity to complex projects.

Few weeks ago, the office got a little louder and a lot more joyful. We made space for the newest members of the Cerulean family, for smiles, and the moments that never make it onto a programme.

With more than 40 years of experience across property development, construction and commercial management, Richard has held senior roles at Lendlease, Mirvac, Avenor and Leighton Properties. He now joins our leadership team to provide the strategic counsel and commercial rigour to help shape Cerulean's next chapter.

Michelle and Samira recently represented Cerulean at ACED's "The future we're actually heading towards", an event exploring artificial intelligence, leadership and the road ahead for our industry.

Among all the conversations about technology, one message stood out: while AI will keep transforming how we work, create and connect, the value of human connection, emotional intelligence and strong soft skills remains irreplaceable. The future isn't about humans versus AI, it's about how we lead with empathy, collaboration and creativity while making the most of the tools we have.

Thank you to ACED and Hunter Mason for hosting such an engaging discussion, and to the speakers and facilitator for sharing their insights. We're proud to support a community advancing women across architecture, construction, engineering, design and development.

What does flexibility really mean?

Daiany Moreira came back to work with a very young baby and, as an immigrant far from family, no easy place for him to be except with her. She reached the point of offering her resignation, certain that motherhood and her career simply couldn't exist in the same life.

Rather than accepting it, we offered her the room to keep both parts of her life intact.

In her own words: a person under less strain is not someone who gives less, but one who is finally free to give their best.

This is what values look like in practice, not words on a wall, but the daily decision to treat people as people.

From bank vaults to boutique hotel. Project Erskine is officially on site.
The former Bank of China building at 39 York Street is being transformed from a 15-storey commercial tower into a 152-key lifestyle hotel: the first Motto by Hilton in Australia. The approach retains the existing concrete frame and restores the arched colonnade base, creating a refined civic presence in the heart of Sydney's CBD.

Getting here wasn't simple. Pre-construction uncovered an original bank vault, a decommissioned underground petroleum tank, HAZMAT conditions, and even a former karaoke entertaining floor complete with a fish tank. Add in the building's location within Sydney Trains' Rail Reserve, 25+ consultants to coordinate, and approvals across multiple authorities, and you get a sense of the work behind the milestone.

We're proud to be guiding Invictus Developments, a Singapore-based group, through their Australian debut as Client's Lead.

One of our first project handovers, and what an iconic place to begin.

Delivered at Level 44 of Harry Seidler's Grosvenor Place, this full-floor workplace fitout for a leading interactive entertainment company brought previously separate tenancies together into one connected, high-end environment overlooking Sydney Harbour.

Executed in a live building environment, the project required careful coordination of approvals, staged delivery and managing evolving design requirements, while remaining well within budget.

The workplace balances experience, functionality and wellbeing; from iridescent glazing inspired by the client’s brand identity, to recycled cork flooring, and thoughtfully integrated breakout and focus spaces.

A rewarding milestone for the Cerulean team.
