How we frame our responsibility to the planet shapes our future.
Inspired by Buckminster Fuller’s “Spaceship Earth”, Lisa explores the idea that humanity has often acted as passengers rather than crew.

Addressing today’s environmental and social challenges means adopting a more active, prioritised approach much like a hospital’s emergency department.

By focusing collective resources on essentials such as clean air, water, and carbon management, we can drive meaningful global change. 💬

What’s your priority for Spaceship Earth? Where would you focus collective action first?

Supporting people on their path to self-actualisation is a mission that demands both optimism and action. While many systems still fall short in enabling everyone’s success, WAVIA believes in the power of collective productivity to drive real change.

By taking inspiration from emergency departments, triaging and prioritising challenges, then mobilising our shared resources and expertise, we can address pressing issues like clean air, water, and carbon reduction. The future depends on organisations working together to solve what matters most.

💬 Which global issue should be prioritised as we strive to build a more equitable world?

As concerns about the future of work rise with the advent of AI, WAVIA sees this era as an opportunity for positive transformation.

The ongoing integration of humans and technology will pose systemic challenges and the chance to improve both our environment and individual wellbeing. From addressing global issues like carbon reduction to eradicating food and water insecurity, using technology for impact is key to building a more equitable future.

💬 What role do you see AI playing in creating sustainable solutions for people and the planet?

We just wrapped our first Book Writing Retreat in the Byron hinterland, and honestly, it exceeded what we imagined.

Ten thought leaders came in with ideas they'd been carrying around for years.

They left with first drafts.
Not outlines. Not intentions. Actual drafts.

Five days of focused writing time, good food, infrared saunas, time in the pool, and a lot of space to just think. The setting did a lot of the work. There's something about being away from your normal environment that makes the words come more easily.

If you've got a book in you and haven't been able to get it out, reach out.

💬 What's the book you keep meaning to write?

We are living through a pivotal moment.
The first generation to be comprehensively documented from birth onward. Previous generations prized privacy and left only glimpses through photographs or records. Today, from early childhood monitors to digital footprints, we’re creating a rich tapestry of data, behaviours, and experiences. Future generations will study this era for its unique blend of life before and after ubiquitous technology, drawing insights from our digital and analogue legacies alike.

💬 In what ways do you see digital documentation influencing how history will remember us?

At WAVIA, our audience spans investors, governments, corporates, entrepreneurs, and startups proof that the future of humanity connects us all.

The path ahead requires three essential attributes, including an entrepreneurial mindset: whether you’re a CEO or a founder, success lies in pursuing strategic growth, seeking new partnerships, and remaining accountable to stakeholders. As the world rapidly changes, readiness to adapt and innovate is paramount for all leaders.

💬 In your view, what qualities will be most important for thriving in the next decade?

The adoption of personal AI is accelerating, driving immediate productivity gains and sparking transformative change.

Yet, with rapid adoption comes legitimate concerns, ranging from societal resistance to fears raised by thought leaders about creating intelligence beyond human control. History shows the risks of coexisting with more dominant “species,” highlighting the importance of humility and strategic alignment.

Preparing for an AI-driven future requires open dialogue and proactive governance.

💬 What safeguards or strategies should organisations pursue as personal AI becomes embedded in daily life?
