Beyond the Last Click: Finding and Creating Incremental Resort Demand

Where are your future guests really spending their time — and which marketing activities are actually influencing them to book?

Mark Shrives takes us beyond traditional attribution and the final click to explore the full guest journey. Using a real-world example, he looks at how different digital touchpoints build awareness and consideration long before a booking appears through a direct channel or OTA.

The focus: understanding what truly creates incremental demand and making smarter decisions about targeting, marketing investment and budget.

Will Guests Find You? AI Search Visibility 2.0: What’s Changed and What Matters Now

Josh D.A. from Cendyn explores how AI is changing the way travellers discover, compare and choose resorts.

Being found is no longer enough. Resorts need to make sure AI can accurately understand the complete guest experience — from rooms and transfers to dining, activities and accessibility.

The focus now is on moving beyond visibility to becoming accurately matched, confidently recommended and commercially actionable in an AI-driven search landscape.

10 years of Phuket Hotels Association — and still plenty more to come.

Jayne MacDougall, President of the Phuket Hotels Association, taking the stage at today’s HSMAI Asia Pacific & Phuket Hotels Association Resort Marketing Conference 2026.

Jayne shared more about the association, its work, and the strength of Phuket’s hotel community — bringing hoteliers together through collaboration, education, destination marketing and sustainability. We’re proud to be working together once again to bring the Resort Marketing Conference to Phuket.

And congratulations to the Phuket Hotels Association on being 10 years young!

How do you turn a hotel restaurant into a dining destination in its own right?

That was the focus of “Beyond the Room Key: From Hotel Restaurant to Dining Destination” at the in the last session.

The panel explored how resorts can attract diners who aren’t staying at the hotel — from stronger digital identities and hyper-local search to social storytelling, targeted advertising and booking platforms.

The discussion also looked at influencer partnerships, events, day-pass packages and seasonal campaigns as ways to drive incremental F&B revenue and build a restaurant brand that stands on its own.

A great reminder that the commercial opportunity for a resort extends well beyond the room.

A lovely moment from today’s HSMAI APAC Resort Marketing Conference in Phuket.

Pjey Mayandi, General Manager of M Social Hotel Phuket, with Khun Prachoom TantiPrasertsuk, President of the Thailand Incentive and Convention Association and Vice President – Sales, Dusit International, and Glen Grosic from HSMAI Asia Pacific.

Khun Prachoom also joined our opening panel, “The Resort Marketing Reset: Where Will the Next Wave of Profitable Demand Come From?”, sharing her perspective on where the opportunities for Phuket and the wider resort sector may come from next.

And a rather perfect backdrop for the photo — one of the beautiful murals here at M Social Hotel Phuket, our host venue for RMC 2026. A big thank you to Pjey and the M Social team for looking after us today, and to Khun Prachoom for being part of the conversation.
