2012 IBM DeveloperWorks Conference Blog Singapore

I’ve just returned from the IBM DeveloperWorks Conference in Singapore. The conference was very insightful and it was another great opportunity to meet many fantastic people.
TestPro participated in the conference as a sponsor and was given the opportunity to present in the Agility in Software Stream, presenting Test Automation with the SmartCloud Enterprise, where we showcased TAF Pro and how we utilise the Smartcloud to build and test environments and applications with speed and simplicity. A model we use for our own Agile SDLC and to provide our customers with a quick solution to hardware challenges.
The audience was very interested in the benefits and features of TAF Pro and was very active during the Q & A session.
The keynote sessions were particularly interesting to hear about IBM’s plans with mobility testing capabilities.

After the conference we had some time to meet and greet with several key IBM people and businesses from both Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

Overall a great few days and very productive with getting ever closer to our next international partnership for the distribution of TAF Pro on the global scale.

Closer to home, our next stop is the IBM Innovate Conference in Melbourne and Sydney!

TAF Pro launches in W.A.
On Tuesday 24 July, Testpro hosted a very exciting launch of our automated testing framework, TAF Pro. This was the first event Testpro has held in Perth, Western Australia and from the buzz in the room, it was well received. We were so pleased to be able to host our IBM partners, our customers and organisations we haven't yet done business with. I would just like to thank our insightful presenters, Mike Schultz from IBM and especially David Saville from Edumate who travelled from Sydney to be part of our launch. Next stop Singapore IBM Developer Works as we continue our contribution to the all important discussion of automated software testing and cloud provisioning.

I’ve just returned from a week in Orlando after attending the IBM Innovate 2012 Conference. This was a great opportunity for TestPro to show case TAF Pro and all the features and benefits it can offer any size business. At the conference TestPro was recognised as a finalist on Innovative software and as a Finalist in Best in Show, both of which show the value of our solution in the IBM marketplace. We found a number of interesting items in the show, both around the diversity of organisations from insurance firms to internal IBM developers, many with the same general problem – agile development and testing. TAF Pro is very well suited to this agile test automation space, and a number of these people are continuing to show interest in the method to achieve that.

Presenting at the conference was a definite highlight for TestPro around how we use the cloud for our own internal development. Our presentation generated a lot of interest from other people also looking to use the cloud to support their own development and increase the time to market of a product.

I met with many new people with the same interest in testing around the test automation space, some showing keen awareness of the potential for increased maturity and many not yet aware of the potential of automation. But also had the chance to catch-up and talk to some people who I’d had prior contact with but had never met face-to-face.

Just got back from Orlando after attending IBM’s Innovate Conference. What a week it has been. It was my 1st time attending the Innovate conference is the US and it was fantastic. It was great to meet so many people interested in TAF Pro and all the IBMers I have been in contact with for so long. Our days were jam packed with talking to people wanting to know about TAF Pro, many interesting sessions and keynotes each day and so many opportunities to branch out and create awareness for TestPro and our automated framework TAF Pro on an international level.
I attended a “Women’s Only Networking Session” where I had the opportunity to meet some inspiring women who share the same passion for IT. There were several token females there too who could resist the great time we were having.
Our “I love Australia” Koalas and pins were a great hit – they could not get enough of them. Everyone wanted a little piece of Australia to take home with them!
Looking forward to taking part in the other Innovate Conferences around the world. Next stop Singapore!

After months of planning, we have just held our official launch for TAF Pro. This is an exciting time for TestPro as the benefits of our Automated Software Testing Framework is fast becoming apparent to new and existing customers.
It was pleasing to see such a big turn out to our product launch comprising our fantastic customers, members of the IBM team and some new organisations interested in TAF Pro. A combination of excellent presentations and post socialising ensured the event was a success. Photos of the event tell the story!
I would like to single out our presenters who gave their time to support the TAF Pro launch. Thank you to Mike Shultz from IBM who travelled all the way from Western Australia to present. Most importantly I would like to thank David Savill from Edumate, one of TestPro’s valued clients for relaying how Edumate apply TAF Pro to their automated testing processes the resulting positive experiences to his business.
Following on from our successful launch, the TestPro team is looking forward to providing our customers with an updated version of TAF Pro in the coming months. This version will enable customers to further increase savings on their testing processes and ensure an excellent return on their investment in Rational Functional Tester.
Our plan is to extend our successful launch to other Australian cities and meet more intimately with our clients and organisations that are keen to learn more about TAF Pro. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you are outside of Sydney and would like to attend one of our launches.
