Last week, we introduced Yayoi Kusama to our young artists.
We talked about her dots, pumpkins, Infinity Rooms, and the wonderfully imaginative world she saw and created. The children then made their own Kusama-inspired artworks, unaware that just days later, we would be saying goodbye to this extraordinary artist.
Yayoi Kusama lived with mental illness throughout her life, but she was never defined by it. She continued to create, transforming her experiences, fears, obsessions and solitude into colours, dots, pumpkins and infinite worlds.
She continued creating until the final days of her life.
What an extraordinary life.
What an extraordinary legacy.
Thank you, Yayoi Kusama, for inspiring generations of artists — including our little ones.🎨
