It's not me, it's you. We're breaking up. Goodbye forever Facebook.

To my followers, I've decided to step away from these little squares and focus my energies on providing valuable content to my updates list subscribers (https://origamicollective.com.au/updates-list).

Facebook and Instagram just aren't doing it for me anymore. Trying to keep up with algorithms, constantly coming up with free and valuable content to prove yourself over and over again. When is it enough?

But then your account can be suspended and taken away from you at any second.

It's quite scary to do this, but I know this is what's right for me, and what will allow me to best serve my clients (who deserve my undivided attention).

I'll still be blogging, but there will be no schedule 😱. And I'll still be sharing free resources with my updates list (https://origamicollective.com.au/updates-list) ⭐️.

Also, because it's 2021 I feel like I have to do a little disclaimer. I'm not saying social media can't help other businesses. But for me, at the moment, it's draining my energy and there are others areas in my business that I want to focus on.

🔎 CALL TO ACTION

When people land on your website do they know where they need to go to find what they're looking for?

Can they find your top product, or services page straight away or is it buried so deep in your website they need a map and a compass to find it.

A website that converts, has a clear call to action (button) on the home page, in the main header image.

If you're a product based business you may want to have a CTA for products that are on sale: SHOP SALE NOW

Or if you're a service based business you may want to direct them to your landing page: LEARN MORE / WORK WITH ME.

Whatever your business may be, always be sure to have a clear, to the point CTA that your user can click to navigate to your best offer.

Trying to beat that never ending to-do list?

Here's my top tips on how you can:

➡️ Use a weekly time tracker to block out your time (how long do you want to spend in each area of your life?)

➡️ Create a schedule to follow during the day, and stick to it. But,

➡️ be sure to schedule in time for tasks that may come in during the day

➡️ Don't feel guilty or bad for scheduling tasks to be complete one or two days after they come in. You don't need to do everything right away!

➡️ Pick a main goal for the day and once that's complete work on the rest of your tasks

This year I've really been focusing on simplifying, minimising and cutting out all the noise when it comes to running my business.

And one of those things included getting a smaller desk.

Because smaller desk = less space for clutter. And I'm the type of person who needs a clear work space so that I can have a clear mind.

So I’ve mentioned before that I like to use Tailwind to schedule my Pinterest pins because it makes things so much easier.

And for a time I used it to schedule my Instagram posts as well.

But I ended up cancelling my subscription for IG posts as a way to try and cut costs while things were quiet during my maternity leave.

5 months later and I was still manually posting to IG and auto sharing to Facebook.

Until I was told that Facebook and Instagram have their own scheduler. What?! Where have I been all this time that I didn’t know this?!

So in case you’ve been living under the same rock I have, I wanted to share this quick tip with you so that you don’t have to manually post at all hours of the day.

And it is Facebook Business Suite!

If you connect your Instagram account you can then use Business Suite to schedule posts for both platforms.

IT'S LIVE!

After a few months in the making, my website redesign is finally live.

I've been working behind the scenes to create a website that was more user friendly, more informative, and just all around nicer to be on.

I've gone all out on a new about page so that you can know exactly who I am.
