𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗨𝗗 𝟭 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲

The Australian Remittance & Currency Providers Association (𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗣𝗔) was honoured to meet with His Excellency Mr Irfan Shaukat, High Commissioner for Pakistan to Australia, together with the Consul General of Pakistan, to present and discuss our 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮–𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗼𝗿 – 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 & 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿.
Following Australia's achievement of exceeding AUD 1 billion in annual formal remittances to Pakistan, the meeting provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the next phase of strengthening the Australia–Pakistan remittance corridor through policy dialogue, digital innovation, enhanced efficiency, and stronger collaboration between governments, regulators, financial institutions and industry.

Discussions also focused on practical initiatives to improve customer experience, encourage greater use of formal remittance channels, and further enhance the contribution of remittances to the economies of both Australia and Pakistan.

ARCPA sincerely appreciates the valuable time, encouragement and constructive engagement of His Excellency the High Commissioner and the Consul General. We also acknowledge the continued support of the High Commission for Pakistan in Australia in engaging with industry stakeholders on matters of strategic importance.

𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗣𝗔 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗱 to working collaboratively with governments, regulators, financial institutions and industry partners to promote a secure, transparent, innovative and sustainable remittance ecosystem that benefits our communities and strengthens the Australia–Pakistan economic partnership.

ARCPA Board members (Munir Mohammad, Kamran Mirza and Fares Talawi were pleased to attend a gala dinner with Attorney-General Michelle Rowland.

Michelle has been a longstanding supporter of efforts to address the de-banking challenges affecting Australia's remittance and financial technology sectors. On 27 November 2014, she formally raised the issue during a Federation Chamber debate, highlighting the impact of de-risking practices and blanket bank account closures on legitimate remittance providers and fintech businesses.

More than a decade later, it is encouraging to see her continued engagement with issues that remain important to our community and industry. ARCPA appreciates the opportunity to continue constructive dialogue with government and other stakeholders on strengthening financial inclusion while supporting Australia's regulatory framework.

A subject matter close to our heart and to a large business community that has not been listened to is finally in a station boarding a train. Still many stations to pass to arrive at a destination. As an active lobbyist and representative of these genuinely affected communities, We are feeling rewarded. We also congratulate our fellow directors past and present in ARCPA for their achievement and perseverance. We also thank the community engagement director of , Senator Paul Scarr, Federal Member Bert Van Manen and Senior officials from Home Affairs. This took ten years to come to this milestone.We also thank all the federal parliamentarians who listened and done something about it during this journey.
