This time last year I hosted Women in Business Long Lunch to celebrate International Womens’ Day.
If you were in the room (thank you again ❤️), you’ll remember the energy - it was incredible. The conversations and connections that happen when a group of ambitious, generous women get together in the same space.
I LOVE creating opportunities for women in business to connect and learn from one another, but events of this scale take over my business and life for a period of time - even with the support of other incredible business owners to make it happen.
Like anything in my business, I always measure the return on my time, energy and financial investment and towards the end of last year I made the decision not to run the event again this year.
And here’s what happened instead.
I’ve had the calmest, most spacious and most profitable start to a year that I can remember.
Instead of stressing over ticket sales and seating plans, I’ve been able to focus fully on my private clients and my Accountability Circle members. I’ve kept up my health routines because I’ve actually had the time and headspace to do so. AND there was enough in my business bank account to say yes to an unexpected trip to the US next month to meet some of my business heroes (more on that soon).
It’s easy to get swept up by opportunities that feel exciting in the moment without truly considering the impact on our business and life.
I loved every minute of that lunch but I have to say, I’m really enjoying being a guest at other people’s IWD events and supporting the women in my community in quieter, more impactful ways.
