How Mileva Anastasia, my daughter, represented my teachings.
SubhanAllah.
As a father, I taught Character, Knowledge, Skill, and Network.
But she did not only hear it.
She lived it.
Mileva had strong character.
She understood her role as a daughter, sister, friend, team member, and person among people.
She filled those roles by the command of Allah.
That is Character.
She gained knowledge to please Allah only.
Not to show off.
Not to chase status.
She used knowledge to better herself, her home, her friendships, her work, her team, and the people around her.
That is Knowledge with purpose.
She became trustworthy in every role she carried.
At home.
Outside.
At work.
Among people.
She never lied.
She never cheated.
She never acted fake.
She always tried to do good for the sake of Allah.
That is Skill with sincerity.
And because of that, she gained Network.
I saw it with my own eyes.
From her final test, to her passing, to the burial, to the people visiting our home.
Only good was spoken about her.
She left a mark on people’s hearts.
As parents, we are honoured.
Her siblings are honoured.
And me, as her father, I am honoured.
She fulfilled the teachings I gave her.
Character.
Knowledge.
Skill.
Network.
We had the best 22 years with her.
And I thank Allah for every one of them.
She left this world as a Muslim.
Not just any Muslim.
She was the first Muslim from our revert family story.
Allah chose our family for Islam.
Allah gave me great offspring.
Allah gave me the best wife.
And through 20 years, we were tested.
Sickness.
Finances.
And now the death of a loved one.
But after hardship comes ease.
The moment she passed, the ease started.
We do not rebel against qadr.
Who are we to go to war with Allah?
He is the best of planners.
Putting her into the barzakh is part of His plan.
We must pass the test.
Alhamdulillah for everything.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.
Indeed, we belong to Allah.
And indeed, to Him we return.
