Our morning harvest.
Figs still warm from the sun, feijoas dropping right on cue, and a mix of tomatoes, zucchini and cucumbers filling the bowl faster than expected. There was no big plan, just stepping outside and seeing what’s ready in the morning hours.
Straight from the garden to the kitchen.

From kit to plate in a morning 🍄
Harvested our first Lion’s Mane from a kit by and straight into the pan for breakfast. Yum! It doesn’t get much fresher than this 😋
Adin’s heading along to their mushroom growing workshop tomorrow too, so we’ll report back.
We have grown a number of oyster mushroom varieties before Lions Mane will always be our favourite.

Thor the goat is having a bit of a slow day today. 🌧️🐐
All this rain has apparently put him off his food (after my panicked phone calls this morning I was advised this common), so he’s been taking it easy while we wait for some vitamins and minerals to arrive.
The good news, his best mate Tristan hasn’t left his side. Keeping watch, keeping him company, and generally being the kind of friend we all need when we’re not feeling 100%.
Stick around until the end for the very adorable sound of Thor… snoring. 😴💤
Send Thor some good goat vibes in the comments so he has a speedy recovery. 💚
We love you Thor 🐐

After a solid week of rain I decided to check on the cherry tomatoes. While I was rummaging around the garden bed I spotted this monster 😮🫣💚 and it’s heavy!
Also rounded up a bowl on tomatoes and a handful of cucumbers. Time to test my mother in laws zucchini fritter recipe I think 🤣

Unwrapping this felt like opening a little doorway back in time.
This beautiful painting was done by my grandmother many years ago, capturing a view of their farm in Armidale, Tilbuster. She passed away many years ago, so seeing her brushstrokes, her colours, and her signature again was more emotional than I expected.
I’m so grateful to my relative who gifted this to me. It means the world to have a piece of her, her creativity, and our family history now hanging on my wall.
Some things aren’t just objects. They’re stories, memories, and love that carry on long after someone is gone. 🤍

I’ve never really shared this part of my creative life before… but here we go 🤓
This is my 2026 Hobonichi Cousin, and this year I’m using it as a junk journal. A new creative project to play with inspired by the book “A year of junk journaling” by Martina Calvi.
I’ve been on a bit of an anti-brain rot kick lately. Less doom scrolling, more cutting things up and sticking them to paper like a happy little gremlin. Turns out my brain really likes analogue hobbies especially creative ones.
Receipts, wrappers, random thoughts, things I didn’t want to throw away but also didn’t know what to do with (hello growing sticker collection!). There are no rules, no “make it beautiful” pressure. Just observing, collecting, and having a play with scissors and glue.
I’ve kept this habit to myself, but it feels kind of nice to let it out into the world. Consider this my gentle journaling coming-out moment. I have been journaling on and off for years but this is my first junk journal attempt and I am having a blast.

If you’re into paper mess, creative chaos, or hobbies that don’t involve a screen, you’re in good company 🤍

I have moved into a new era. Reading glasses. I do believe they just increased my IQ points by 100 🤓

Jokes aside, the difference they are making is mind blowing. I don’t know why I suffered for so long 🤣

Librarian era activated 😁

Thanks Katoomba for helping me choose my frames. Love them!
