Meet the Founders – Apex Guardian Services
We sat down with our co-founders, Scott and Dejan, to discuss why they launched Apex Guardian Services and what sets it apart in the security industry.
Why did you start Apex Guardian?
Dejan: “We saw a clear gap in the market. On one end, you have low-cost, volume-driven providers offering minimal effort. On the other, there are tactical-heavy companies delivering safety but often at the expense of the client’s comfort and privacy. We believe there’s a better way – premium, safety-focused protection delivered with minimal disruption to our principal’s everyday life. Personal protection should feel seamless, not invasive.
Scott and I also witnessed first-hand how many companies over-promise and under-deliver. We wanted to build something different.”
Scott: “It’s amazing how far you can go by using common sense, putting yourself in your principal’s shoes, and following through on what you said you’d do.”
What’s your background?
Scott: “I’ve been in the security industry since I was 18, starting in pubs, clubs, and events. I stepped away to work in real estate for a time but eventually returned to security as an operations manager, overseeing day-to-day operations for several years. I was later promoted to head of sales and marketing, where I worked closely with every client. That role played to my strengths, and I continue to focus heavily on those areas at Apex.”
Dejan: “I studied accounting and finance while working security shifts during university. After some time in accounting roles, I realised full-time desk work wasn’t for me. I moved into operations management at a security company, focusing on rostering and logistics, then progressed to general manager at another firm. Those operational skills are exactly what I bring to Apex today.”
What makes Apex different?
Scott: “We both learned from the rights and wrongs of our previous workplaces and made a promise never to repeat the mistakes. No cutting corners, no race to the bottom, and never chasing volume over quality. That commitment has driven consistent month-on-month growth and allowed us to build a company we’re genuinely proud of.”
