BAS lodgement doesn't have to be a nightmare – here's three truths to follow. It may cost a little more in bookkeeping, but keeping it up to date monthly saves you time, money and peace of mind in the long run.

✓ GST tracking that makes sense – Know what you've collected, know what you've claimed. That's it. That's the foundation.

✓ Lodging on time – Late = penalties. No excuses. Get it in the calendar and stick to it.

✓ Keeping your receipts – You don't lodge them, but if the ATO comes knocking, you better have them. Organised records = peace of mind.

Here's what I see all the time: business owners sweating the small stuff while missing the big picture. Get these three right, and you're golden.
