Canberra and Brisbane, this one’s for you 🚲

Canberra, from Friday 16 October, you can drop off your old bikes and bike materials at 99 Bikes stores across the city. Brisbane, you’re next, from 28 October. Bring the whole bike, or the bits: there are bins for rubber, metal and other parts that can be recycled. ♻️

Just head in during normal 99 Bikes trading hours.

Worried your bike won’t end up where it should? Download our tracking form and attach it to your bike. We’ll make sure it gets to our workshop, where our mechanics assess it. It’ll either be fixed up and put back on the road, stripped for parts to keep other bikes rolling, or recycled properly.

For the second year running, we’re partnering with Google Australia for Ride2Work Day, 14 Oct. 🚲

We're here on site for the Google AU team for a bike check-and-tune and bike collections.

Corporate partnerships like this give us an opportunity to reach people where they work and make cycling part of the conversation. It’s also a practical way to give unwanted bikes another life.

We’re happy to be working with Google again. Brilliant to see workplace initiatives that support cycling and reuse in action.

Ride2Work Day at International Towers comes with a bit of pedal power. 🚲

We’re partnering with International Towers for the first time, and on 14 October we’re bringing two Bike Blenders along. They're bikes with blenders attached, so the smoothies only happen if someone pedals.

If you work there, come and have a go. You get a smoothie, and the bike does the rest of the work. Well, you do. 😋

Every so often, we send a container out west.�This one headed for Alice Springs. Here's what's inside:

⚙️ 36 rear derailleurs

A second life for each one. A first bike for the kids in Alice Springs.

Every bike we get is a bike kept out of landfill 🚲

Once it's donated, it gets a second life. Most are refurbished and sold in our shop at a price that works for people who can't afford a new bike. Plenty go to kids who need one, free. Any bikes we can't get back on the road are stripped for parts to fix others.

Every one of those bikes also creates work for people who face barriers to employment.

Just another day in the workshop 🧰

It's never too late (nor too early!) to get your bike checked up. Our team, like Hespos here, met a customer who needed a quick repair for his ride.

We're teaming up with City of Parramatta for four Saturdays running, starting 10 Oct. Free bike checks and tunes, right at the Community Recycling Centre on Fennel Street, North Parramatta. 9am–12pm.

Got something tucked away in the shed? Drop it off. We’ll take it back to the workshop and get it ready for a second life.

Important bit: Check and tunes need a booking, and spots are limited at each event. Book ahead so you're not disappointed on the day. Link below ⤵️
