Ok - let's take a break from the doom and gloom.

Here's a nice little interview I did for my client (NPP Australia and PayID) about an entrepreneur with a disability who has set up an awesome and fast growing business using the PayID functionality that most of you would have in your internet banking.

PayID means you can get paid in real-time and you can check that you are sending the money to the right person before it goes through. We always knew it was a game changer in payments and bank transfers, but seeing how it has given people like Carly the independence to run their own business was an unexpected bonus.

Am I allowed to quietly feel hopeful that more men are starting to ‘get it’? As I did when I watched the many men who marched in solidarity with the hundreds of thousands of women at the March4Justice rallies?

But we still need more men speaking up against sexism. My article in Women's Agenda

Three years ago today the NPP and PayID (the introduction of real-time account-to-account payments) launched to the Australian market. It was an incredible effort from so many people that I was so proud to be part of.

(Side note: on the eve of the launch, as we literally put the final full-stop on the media releases, my daughter was admitted to hospital with suspected appendicitis. Impeccable timing! Talking to media from her bedside was the ultimate in flexible working...)

As the corporate world works hard to address the gender imbalance higher up the ladder, the rest of our lives struggles to keep pace. My views on the conversations we should be having this and it shouldn't be about the 'women who do it all'.

I used to look forward to International Women’s Day (IWD). I’d eagerly register for events featuring panels of highly successful women. When the day arrived, I’d fill my social feeds with quotes from these women as they shared their stories and insights.

About a year ago I was approached to do 'a few hours a week' comms support for the New Payments Platform. A year later the Platform is pretty much my main client, and it's proving to be one heck of a ride. And over the next few months, the ride is set to become even crazier (but fun).
