This podcast had me smelling salt water and fresh sardines! Kate and I pip the olives on how she switched from a stressed out User Experience strategist working on large projects for Woolworths, Qantas, MCA, Sydney Opera House and her husband (Alex) a stressed out veterinarian and animal hospital owner moved to Mollorca, bought an olive farm and an electric Kia!

Kate & Alex decided to take a 1.5 year sabbatical in Europe to reset as a family because life hadnโ€™t been great and it was not heading in the direction we wanted it to, with their 4 year old son Archie in tow when they left in 2017.

They started of travelling around for 2 months, then lived in Aix en Provence France, then Seville Spain, then Mallorca. Their 1.5 year sabbatical turned into โ€œwe found something betterโ€ In Kateโ€™s words, โ€˜ we literally moved heaven and earth to make our new home a reality. It was the most difficult thing that weโ€™ve done as a family, especially because of the Australian fires and COVIDโ€™.

They are now semi-retired, have made good investments and completely changed the way we spend money and live to achieve a life where spend massive amounts of quality family time together. Kate also runs a foodie community on the island, which is currently building an advertising platform for food focused business to talk directly to locals out of season.

This podcast shares the journey of leaving corporate life for the unknown sea change in a completely different country and culture. It proves that by Switching Your Sitch, happiness can be found in places you had only ever dreamed of!

He and his family went on to found Asset Realty, a Sydney based Real Estate company that puts their customers at the forefront of the property purchase experience. Gone are the hard sales tactics and hello to a realty that focuses on customer centric experiences when purchasing one of the greatest assets in our lifetime.
