This was not a normal project.
Imagine your company says you have to:
- manage a video production project from the other side of the world,
- hoping the local crew, the equipment, and the locations are all up to expectation.
- You need to tell a deeply personal story, BUT you’re doing it through a translator,
which adds a whole new layer of "please tell me we're getting this right."
Who would you entrust to make it happen?
There’s always that nagging worry that the delicate, human moments will get lost
when you're juggling logistics and a language barrier at the same time.
Of course the secret is having a cracking team on the ground to help smooth out the bumps.
So that's what we managed for our client.
For this shoot in Belgium, we were working with our subject Mimi,
who was incredibly generous in sharing her journey with sickle cell disease.
We also had our local fixers sort crew, gear, locations and translators.
A bunch of problems we were able to take off our client's plate.
The result?
A strong patient focused video that we hope allows our client to 'move the needle' for sufferers of this condition.
A lot challenges for an incredibly worthy project.
