BREAKING: NEW LAW! EXTREME ANIMAL ABUSERS BANNED FOR LIFE. NSW has just become the first state in Australia to implement automatic lifetime animal bans against extreme abusers. Our proposed new law has just passed both Houses.

We have also just secured eight-fold increases in penalties and double jail sentences for cases of animal abuse, interim animal bans while abusers are still in court, and an increase in the time period animal abuse cases can be brought before courts. Tougher penalties are now in place in NSW, taking us from the state with the weakest penalties to one of the toughest โ€“ indicating animal abuse is finally being recognised as the serious crime it is.

Shockingly, no one in NSW has ever been banned from animal guardianship or working with animals after a successful conviction of serious animal cruelty or be******ty. Now those found guilty will be automatically prohibited from having animals in their care or working with animals - for life.

We must get other states to follow in NSWโ€™s footsteps, to crack down on these dangerous criminals and introduce the same protective mandatory, lifetime animal bans across Australia.

Another win- onwards and upwards!

This should be a no-brainer, sadly it isn't!
If you're NOT in a designated off-leash area, please don't let your dog roam and approach other dogs on leads. He may be small & friendly but he'll still scare the wits out of a reactive dog.. ๐Ÿ˜ข

George Tran is a nut job.

I started with a crazy idea. I wanted to save dogs... Especially the naughty ones that everyone has given up on. The aggressive ones, the ones that would likely be put down if they were surrendered.

I started taking in a few human aggressive surrenders as I have space in my little home in suburban Sydney. It was a huge inconvenience. It was a pain in the behind. It was hard work. It was dangerous both for me and my dogs. They were loud and noisy, and I lost many nights of sleep because of them. But I did it anyway. Because the moment I gave up on that dog was the moment that dog was going to die.

It would kill me seeing post after post about dogs needing to be surrendered and no one could do anything about.

Instead of just saying "oh well, it's not my problem." I made it my life's goal to save as many of these unloved souls as possible.

I am not a rescue. I am not a charity. I am not wealthy. I am just some guy who gives a sh and is willing to take action towards my dreams. I could have settled in my lovely home and lived in peace. Sleep in when I wanted, and just spend quality time with my family like everyone else.

I basically blew up all my savings and put myself into a tonne of debt to secure a piece of property in Bargo and to build a sanctuary in my backyard where I can provide a safe place to keep these dogs and rehabilitate them so they can be adopted out to loving homes.

I am not a rescue. I don't want to be a rescue. I don't want to compete with other rescues who do a wonderful job for the community. My goal is to help take in the unwanted/risky/dangerous ones and keep them safe.

Yep. You got to be some kind of special nut job to want to do what I do.

Who's with me?

Hello, Iโ€™m the Brush-tailed Possum that lives in your roof.

I don't really want to, but the old trees that I used to live in have been cleared. Young trees don't have the hollows that I need, for nesting and raising my little family. I miss my Marri tree ๐Ÿ˜ž.

The forests I evolved to live in are becoming fragmented. Everything is unfamiliar and frightening. When I go out looking for food or a mate, I have to navigate houses, roads, high fences and noisy backyards with dogs.

Sometimes I find sanctuary in people's roof, shed or vegetable garden, which they donโ€™t like ๐Ÿ˜ž. They get bad advice on social media and use rat baits or traps to try and relocate me. They don't realise that I'm not a pest, but protected native wildlife!

Itโ€™s illegal to try to trap me to take me to an unfamiliar forest. The Possums there will fight with me and I may get hit by a car, or bitten by a dog, trying to get back home.

Will you help me find a home at your place? I would much rather have a nest box in a big tree, than live in a roof.

You can help me move out of your roof safely!
1. Put a Possum Box in a suitable shady tree, near a sturdy branch, at least 4m up
2. Add an apple, some fresh eucalyptus leaves and (if possible) some of my roof nest material, to the Possum Box - this will encourage me to investigate
3. Place a sensor light and cassia chips in your roof space, to encourage me to leave (please donโ€™t use moth balls or baits!)
4. Wait for me to find the Possum Box and move in
5. Once I am out of the roof, you can seal the access points and trim the branches I may have been using to get into the roof

You can also help me by
โ€ข keeping your pets restrained
โ€ข avoiding poisons and pesticides
โ€ข using wildlife-friendly netting on your fruit trees
โ€ข driving carefully at night

Please help us ๐Ÿ™. We belong here too.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love dogs. But I will never touch your dog (or your child) until I receive permission from the parent/you and just as importantly from the dog/child.

No matter how cute the dog may be. Do not touch without permission. That is like seeing a beautiful man/woman and coming up and pawing all over him/her without consent. It is rude and unappreciated.

On , let sleeping dogs lie!

Surveys show that roughly 60% of us sleep with our dogs, and that women who share their bed with dogs actually sleep better! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ›Œ๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ‘Œ
Dogs dream too & as they only get 10% "deep sleep" aka REM (Rapid Eye Movement), let them enjoy their dreams!
