Many people today live in Units and townhouses, and in the inner west, smaller terrace and semi detached housing. Space is limited, yet many people wish to grow plants, flowers, veggies and fruit for enjoyment, privacy, shade, and general feelings of biophilia (our enduring need to be with nature).…

Over the last 18 months or so I’ve read newspaper headlines and stories espousing the new virture of less, or conspicuous consumption over needed change – its not that change is not good.

Change is good, but change is, and should be about progression, not about sheer laziness. The “simple” movement developing is all about re-living worthwhile values and needs and not about simply making change for changes sake.

Every summer you see it - kids at the beach need nothing except water and sand to create fun. Imagination is their weapon of desire and you just cant buy that in the shop, but you can repress it with “mind occupiers and body limiters”.

So much of the modern life is about occupying creativity and finding a financial value or return on it’s static or morbid replacement. In the end, it leaves the supplier with financial incentive to keep on corrupting our creative and active lives while leaving us with an over indulged and sedentary downhill run at life.

We are keen on "Living Simply, and NOT Simply Living"

Such a natural solution ... Thought went into this solution, rather than blind resources. As einstein said, smart people solve problems, wise people avoid them!! Clearly this is a wise solution :)

I received a notification today regarding the Federal Government's funding contribution of "$4m for Danish climate contrarian Bjorn Lomborg to establish a new “consensus centre” at the University of Western Australia.

In the face of deep cuts to the CSIRO and other scientific research organisations, it's an insult to Australia’s scientific community.

As the Climate Commission, we were abolished by the Abbott Government in 2013 on the basis that our $1.5 million annual operating costs were too expensive. We relaunched as the Climate Council after thousands of Australians chipped in to the nation’s biggest crowd-funding campaign - remember this video?

It seems extraordinary that the Climate Commission, which was composed of Australia’s best climate scientists, economists and energy experts, was abolished on the basis of a lack of funding and yet here we are three years later and the money has become available to import a politically-motivated think tank to work in the same space."

"Mr Lomborg’s views have no credibility in the scientific community. His message hasn’t varied at all in the last decade and he still believes we shouldn't take any steps to mitigate climate change. When someone is unwilling to adapt their view on the basis of new science or information, it's usually a sign those views are politically motivated."

Ya know... it just makes you wonder doesn't it .... the Prime Minister SAYS he believes in Climate Change, the Minister Hunt says he believes in Climate Change, so WHY oh WHY oh WHY do they invest OUR money in such a ridiculous venture???

help me understand WHY???

The article below is highly recommended reading or a few reasons... firstly, that with less than 0.3% Pomegranate and 0.2% Blueberry juices in a drink labelled Pomegranate Blueberry "flavoured", they are supposedly labelling legally, although the judges feel they are being conned!! And, secondly, that the legal fraternity is "living and breathing" on such disputable legal technicalities that have nothing to do with the consumer being deceived!! And thirdly, that a company as profoundly large and globally dominant as Coca Cola is, that they do not have a corporate social responsibility process in place that would prevent such a debacle taking place ... that is, that they were able to launch and support such a deceptive product, that they have seen fit to defend this claim and product line and, finally that they hold their consumers in such low regard that they would dare to do all this to them, and expect to be paid for the privilege!!!

Now what am I missing here????

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Supreme Court justices grilled a lawyer for Coca-Cola Co on Monday, asking why a juice label touting the presence of pomegranates and blueberries should not be considered misleading
