Tim talking more around what to expect as we launch CCTV and Talking Shop in the next few weeks. Tim will be interviewing a couple of members, and the wider team will be interviewing a national cafe industry audience with big names and everyday people, just like the rest of us.

CCTV is a live-style video feature addition to Clever Cafe and is just getting off the ground across Australia. We maintain the approach that the cafe community needs everyday access, and so the everyday nature, unscripted and lightly edited format of this addition to Clever Cafe is something we are really looking forward to rolling out.

Who knows, we may even ask you to come on and hand you the mic!

A few from lately that matter:

The $20,000 instant write off is set to become permanent from 1 July. Once you're trading, gear under that, your coffee machine or fridges, can be written off the year it's in use. One to time with your accountant.

Award wages rise 4.75% on 1 July. That's your staff, not you, so build it into your numbers before you open.

Wholesale coffee's come off its peak, but don't bank on a cheaper cup, so hold your pricing.

And the good news: demand's fine. Australians still spend around $8bn a year on coffee. The fight is your costs, not your customers.
