Julian Bel-bachir has studied african drumming since the age of 6 and has been learning how to fix instruments since he was a young boy. having spent lots of time threw west africa studying with masters in the republic of guinea and senegal both playing the different drums and instruments but also in the craft of Building and repairing them as well. This master Djembe is Hand carved in guinea west Africa The Home land of the Djembe. The drum is carved out of one whole solid trunk of the "Lenge" hard wood found in west Africa . Lenge is one of the most popular woods used for the djembe use by many of the worlds best Djembe players. . This drum has been hand selected by me from some of guinea's finest Djembe makers . It has been mounted with a medium thickness african goat skin , african skins have a unique sound which can not be beaten by other goats that are locally sourced or imported from other countries. The skin has been wet shaved by hand and hand fleshed to ensure the best sound. Strung with a high tension spectra static 5 mm chord to ensure non-stretching so tuning is not compromised.
It also has rubber on the bottom of the drum to protect it from ware and tare. The drum has been decorated and tuned as a lead solo drum with very tight slap, warm tones and big bass and bottom end.
A dream drum for any player at any level
