I'm getting lots of questions about the value of an upgrade. I have put my own personal experience of moving from the TM6 to the TM7. Others have different things that appeal more and I hope you find this helpful.

For the past 13 years, my longest and most reliable relationship has been with my Thermomix. 😂
Like James Bond, I've upgraded over the years whenever a new model has come onto the market.
Since upgrading to the TM7, one question keeps coming up:
**"Is it really that different?"**
I asked exactly the same thing.
I loved my TM6. It's an incredible machine and, after around six years of using it, I honestly wondered whether upgrading would be worth it.
For me, it absolutely has been.
Here are the things I've noticed most:
✔️ **It's so much quieter.** The insulated bowl makes a huge difference. Instead of hearing the machine from the next room, it's often the delicious aroma that reminds me something's cooking.
✔️ **The insulated bowl keeps food at temperature longer.** Whether it's a fresh Thai curry or a batch of sorbet, everything stays at the right temperature until I'm ready to serve or enjoy it—without needing the microwave or freezer.
✔️ **The Varoma - 45% more space AND a smarter shape. It's a fantastic improvement.
✔️ **The bowl is easier to handle.** Releasing it from the insulated sleeve is simple with the side lever, and it's much easier to remove, carry and clean.
✔️ **The 10-inch touchscreen is brilliant.** It's large, responsive and fully touch-operated. No more turning dials. It's a bit like when mobile phones evolved from tiny screens with buttons to the touchscreens we use today.
✔️ **Cleaning is so much easier.** The redesigned bowl means there are fewer awkward places to clean. No more cotton buds, old toothbrushes or trying to reach impossible little corners!
✔️ **More cooking control.** I really enjoy the higher heat manual cooking options and Open Lid Cooking. They're fantastic for pasta, sauces, reducing liquids and recipes that don't need constant stirring.
✔️ **It looks sexy.** The TM7 has a sleek, modern design that genuinely looks like a premium appliance—and it performs like one too.
If you've only had your TM6 for a year or two and you're perfectly happy with it, I wouldn't tell you to rush out and upgrade. The TM6 is still an outstanding machine.
But if you've had your TM6 for several years, or you're still using a TM5, TM31 or an even earlier model, I think it's well worth taking a look at what's changed.
These are simply my own thoughts after cooking with both the TM6 and the TM7. Your priorities might be different, but these are the improvements that have made the biggest difference in my kitchen.
