September 2011 Rugby World Cup. Part of the legendary “A Team” — living on accreditation, immersed in the buzz of the fans, and making memories that still make me smile. Even better, I got to share it all with some of my original Sportsgirls.

Moments like these remind me why sport is about more than just the game — it’s about the people, the friendships, and the adventure along the way.

Didn't realise how much I needed a break.

Time to just be present, to enjoy the beauty, swim, read, sleep, eat and quality time with hubby.

It was a conscious effort to stay off social media, checking emails and msgs. We get so used to always being connected but in doing so we sometimes become disconnected.

Definitely a goal moving forward is to have regular non digital/tech/available days.

As the GM of a national sports organisation, moments like this bring a mix of excitement, focus, nerves and a deep sense of responsibility.

Funding decisions for high-performance sport are more than just numbers. They set the tone for what’s possible in the years ahead—unlocking opportunities for our athletes, inspiring our communities, and shaping a legacy that we hope transcends podium finishes.

As we await decisions on funding allocations, I think about the immense potential of NZ athletes and our ability to punch above our weight on the global stage.
