A chance meeting with Nina, Team Japan's physio, at the Junior/U23 World Championships led to the discovery of mutual friends from her rugby days in Auckland and with the Mie Pearls in Japan.

I love the little moments like this. Sport has a way of connecting incredible women across countries, codes and careers.

Didn't realise how much I needed a break.

Time to just be present, to enjoy the beauty, swim, read, sleep, eat and quality time with hubby.

It was a conscious effort to stay off social media, checking emails and msgs. We get so used to always being connected but in doing so we sometimes become disconnected.

Definitely a goal moving forward is to have regular non digital/tech/available days.
