What a great turnout for our AGM this week!

It was a positive morning reflecting on another successful year for the Society and looking ahead to what’s next.

We were pleased to have David Creais, Bartier Perry Lawyers, chair the election of the Executive Committee and present on an important change to AS 4349.0 — an interesting and valuable update for our members.

ASBC President, John Cunniffe, also reflected on what the Society has achieved over the past 12 months and highlighted the broad range of experience and expertise now represented across the Society.

It’s been a very positive year and we’re looking forward to building on that momentum in the year ahead.

A big thank you to David Previte (Waterproofing Integrity) and Sharon Levy (Bartier Perry Lawyers) for presenting at our ASBC breakfast meeting last week, and to everyone who attended and contributed to the engaging discussions.

✅ David discussed the NCC 2025 changes and what they mean for waterproofing practice at design and inspection stage.

✅ Sharon provided valuable insights into defect claims, explaining the key differences between the Home Building Act (HBA) and the Design and Building Practitioners Act (DBPA).
