Our latest Australian Construction Market Conditions Report is out now.

Construction cost escalation remains, in most markets, well above historical averages. This continues to be accompanied by record or near-record highs in construction activity, but some drivers of escalation are not necessarily linked to the peak volumes of work.

How can this situation be reconciled? And what are the implications of the recent escalation in the US-led trade war for the economy, construction and cost escalation?

In celebration of National Volunteer Week, our team partnered with Habitat for Humanity's Brush with Kindness program to support community housing initiatives that provide safe and affordable homes for individuals with low incomes.

Throughout the day, our team engaged in painting, gardening, and cleaning activities, fostering a sense of camaraderie while giving back to the community. This event also allowed us to utilise our 'wellbeing for others' leave day, reinforcing our commitment to social responsibility.

Our partnership with Habitat for Humanity is a key component of WT Aspire, an employee-led initiative that encourages and empowers our teams to participate in local philanthropic efforts. Learn more: https://wtpartnership.com.au/about-us/wt-aspire/

In recognition of National Reconciliation Week, our Brisbane office hosted a presentation which was broadcasted nationally featuring Joseph Wallace, Managing Director of Multhana, an Indigenous-owned business dedicated to creating employment and training opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Queensland.

Joe shared his insightful reflections on the practical aspects of reconciliation, the lived experiences of Indigenous communities, and the ways in which we can all contribute to meaningful and lasting change.

This year's theme, "Bridging Now to Next," encourages us to learn from historical lessons and work together towards a more united and respectful nation.

We're excited to see the Jinndii Waijung (Haven House Logan) project successfully completed, providing women and their children safe accommodation. This collaborative initiative was led by the Lady Musgrave Trust and the Property Industry Foundation and made possible by The Queensland Government.

Jinndii Waijung, which means "Mother's Nest" in the Yugambeh language, comprises four self-contained units totalling nine bedrooms. The development also includes communal spaces for learning and support activities, strategically located near schools, parks, and public transport to foster community integration and accessibility.

We're proud to have played a role in providing pro bono cost management and quantity surveying services. Christian Evelyn and Sophie Lam attended the ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate this milestone and view the completed units.
