Dare to Dine 2026. Five chefs. One kitchen takeover. One incredible cause.

For one very special night, James Metcalfe, Monty K, Daniel Corbett Mark Hanover and Justin North took over the kitchens at Canva to create an unforgettable dinner in support of the Children's Cancer Institute

We were incredibly privileged to hear from Jaimee Eaton, who so courageously shared her family’s story and reminded us exactly why we come together each year.

Together, we raised more than $118,000 to help fund the research and science working towards a future without childhood cancer.

WHAT. A. NIGHT.

We saved the man behind it all for last. Our 5th and final chef from last week's Dare to Dine needs no introduction, but he definitely needs celebrating.

James Metcalfe, Founder & Managing Director of JRM Hospitality & Recruitment, chef, mentor and the heart and brains behind Dare to Dine.

Once again, James stepped up to the challenge, giving an enormous amount of his time, energy and generosity to make the night happen.

And what a result. đź’™

Last week’s dinner raised more than $115,000 for Children’s Cancer Institute and with donations still coming in, that incredible total is continuing to grow.

James has been the driving force behind Dare to Dine from the very beginning, bringing together brilliant chefs, generous supporters and an industry that continues to rally behind this cause.

Well done, James. An extraordinary effort and something to be very proud of. 👏💙

To everyone who played a part in this year's dinner, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. A dedicated post is coming out shortly to acknowledge your kindness and your generosity.

And to James, congratulations on another phenomenal Dare to Dine. The work, energy and heart that goes into creating a night like this is enormous, and we couldn’t be prouder of what you’ve achieved.

If you’d still like to support James and Children’s Cancer Institute, donations remain open here:

Danny plays a defining role in shaping the food, standards and culinary identity behind some of the Group's most acclaimed restaurant openings. Since joining in 2021, Danny has been central to the success of its venues, particularly Shell House and The International, both of which quickly became two of Sydney's most acclaimed restaurants. Drawing on more than two decades of experience in leading kitchens across Europe and Australia, his cooking is grounded in strong technique, outstanding produce and food with a clear sense of identity.

Danny's early career included three years with Gary Rhodes at the Michelin-starred Rhodes W1 in London, followed by a period at the three Michelin-starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsay under Clare Smyth. He went on to lead the kitchen at Gallery Restaurant in Scotland, earning a Michelin star. After relocating to Australia, Danny continued his trajectory at some of the country's most highly regarded restaurants, including the three-hatted Quay and two-hatted Bécasse.

Today, Danny leads The Point* Group's senior culinary team across Shell House, The International, The Dolphin Hotel, Hotel Harry and Hotel Canobolas. Working alongside the Group's head chefs, he continues to evolve the menus, dining experiences and culinary direction of each venue, with a focus on food that is distinctive, generous and innovative.

As The Point* Group looks to the future, Danny's experience, leadership and commitment to culinary excellence will help shape the next chapter of the Group.
