Finally! We have our clock tower. A HUGE project.

"Exciting news! As of Thursday, May 26th, 2022 The Spurway Building has the clock tower restored. After years of preparation The Spurway Building will finally has its clock tower. Three clocks were installed by Andrew Markerink from Masterclocks and the great team from Magic Glass who did a fantastic job under Andrew's guidance.

The Owners Corporation of The Spurway Building voted in favour of the special resolution at the AGM to reinstate the clocks to the newly named "The Spurway Building".

A special team of strata committee members managed the project and worked with Heritage architects, with City of Sydney representatives, with a specialist in heritage clocks who gave advice on the best type of clocks that would be suitable for the building. Andrew Markerink is the master clockmaker who gave us guidance and expertise https://masterclockmakers.com.au and was onsite to manage the installation with the abseilers.

The building is heritage listed and used to be named Frank G. Spurway. The developer named it "Sydney Park Business Centre" for marketing purposes. A few years ago, the Owners Corporation voted in favour of renaming it "The Spurway Building" and removed the old sign to be replaced by a more suitable sign for the building.
The new sign was designed and manufactured under the supervision and expertise of Page.38 (Leigh Teanby) who did a great job.

The space was developed by Platino Properties in 2002 into modules, ranging in size from 36sqm to 120 sqm. The Frank G. Spurway used to be a manufacture of screws. The factory was a good example of the inter-war functionalist style." It was built in 1940.

New at The Spurway Building!

Like its cyberspace counterpart, it stocks one of the country’s best selections of natural wine, as well as Jovi’s DIY burgers, Aussie spirits and beer. Plus, the prices are the same as online.

Great news! The new signage for our beautiful building was installed a few weeks ago. It is now called The Spurway Building. The next step in restoring this magnificent piece of history is to install clocks by a specialist in heritage clocks. The Owners Corporation recently voted at the AGM in favour of installing clocks on the tower. The clocks will be bespoke and should be ready in February/March 2022.
