Your Performance Max ROAS might look strong.
But if your campaign is barely spending, not scaling, or not bringing in enough sales, your Target ROAS could be part of the problem.
This is something I see a lot with Shopify Google Ads accounts.
A business wants more growth, but the campaign is being held back because the ROAS target is set too aggressively. Google then gets more selective, which can mean:
• lower spend
• fewer clicks
• fewer sales
• slower growth
A higher ROAS percentage does not automatically mean a better campaign if total revenue and profit are being left on the table.
In my latest post, I break down:
• what Target ROAS actually does
• how an overly high target can restrict scale
• why lower ROAS can sometimes mean better business growth
• what Shopify stores should check before changing budget or bidding
