Should you accept every connection request on LinkedIn?

That was the key question discussed during our recent LinkedIn for Networking presentation delivered to members of the Southern Strength Agile Manufacturing Network.

Many attendees believed you should only connect with people you’ve met in person, highlighting how much trust is still built through face-to-face interaction.

So where does LinkedIn come in? Here are two ways it can support professional relationship-building:

1️⃣ Engage with your existing network.
You do not need thousands of connections for LinkedIn to work for you. Often, we connect and then forget. A simple like, comment or direct message can help reignite a valuable relationship.
2️⃣ Be intentional with new connections.
Even if you have not met someone, they might be worth connecting with. Review their profile and consider why they might have reached out. There could be a meaningful opportunity behind the request.

Does your team take a different approach to LinkedIn connections? We would love to hear what makes you hit accept.

Many people don’t realise just how powerful the Social Selling Index (SSI) really is.

It’s more than just a fancy metric; it’s LinkedIn’s way of showing how well you’re leveraging the platform to build your brand, engage your network, and drive sales.

Here’s why SSI matters:

✅ It measures how effectively you’re establishing your professional brand
✅ It shows how well you identify the right people and build meaningful relationships
✅ It tracks how frequently you engage with insights and share valuable content

Improving your SSI means enhancing your visibility, trust, and influence — all essential for success on LinkedIn.

You are the perfect paracetamol for your client’s pain points.

But why should they choose you over other solutions out there?

It all comes down to how you package and present yourself.

In other words, your website, LinkedIn profile, advertising, and content marketing are crucial for establishing credibility and trust when people are seeking help.

The good news is you can create a compelling campaign without breaking the bank.

1️⃣ Start with your LinkedIn headline (the section below your profile pic). Craft one that communicates your unique value to the world. While the default is your current job title, consider bullet-pointing your skills and benefits, writing a compelling sentence, or using both approaches.

2️⃣ Connect with your target market and potential referral partners. Your messaging here is key to making meaningful connections.

3️⃣ Share content that demonstrates how you alleviate their pain points and solve their problems.

What’s your remedy? Is it clearly communicated? Let us know below.

LinkedIn has a new 'I can't be bothered to read your post' button...

Now creating good, engaging content has never been more important.

Recently, Premium members have the option to receive 'Takeaways' from posts that appear in their feed. This feature provides an AI-generated summary of the post and offers the ability to 'search LinkedIn and other sources' to answer any questions posed in the post.

For instance, a recent post by Linh Podetti discussed sharing her S3C Lifestyle Mastery Model with her Entrepreneurs' Organization Melbourne Forum and creating a One-Page Lifestyle Plan.

The 'Takeaway' provides an AI-generated version of her post, which may differ significantly from Linh's original voice.

Clicking on the question expands on her point, leading to additional sources and discussions.

What do you think—do you find this feature useful or useless?

P.S. Message Tom Etherington, if you'd like to explore the best way to engage your target market and win new business on LinkedIn.

Are you LinkedIn-ready for networking?

It's time to present the best version of yourself to meet potential clients and collaborators (like the friendly folks in this ChatGPT image).

Here’s how you can maximise your networking success using LinkedIn:

1️⃣ Download your personalised LinkedIn QR code for easy connections. Here's how 👉 https://lnkd.in/dMXYJRQM

2️⃣ Update your profile with messaging that's precise and optimised for keywords.

3️⃣ Craft an eye-catching banner and headline that showcases why they should be excited to have you in their network.

LinkedIn + In-person networking is a complete 360-degree approach and can be incredibly valuable when done right.

Not sure where to begin? Ask about our Brand360 program, designed to help you make a lasting impression on LinkedIn and beyond.

Watch this quick video to elevate your LinkedIn and networking game with the QR code feature.

While it's not new, many are still surprised to discover that LinkedIn has a QR code that gives people direct access to their profile via the LinkedIn app.

Not only is it an easy way to connect and keep conversations flowing, but it also adds a nice touch to your presentations.

Pro tip: Save it as a favourite in your photos for lightning-fast access.

Do you already use QR codes to make LinkedIn connections easy, or is this news to you?

What does a LinkedIn Campaign look like for you?

This is Marco Scannone.

He’s a Mortgage Broker in Sydney.

He’s also a first-generation Italian who emigrated from Milan in 2006.

While he can help most people with a mortgage, he’s exceptionally skilled at guiding Italians through the complicated process in their own language.

So, a LinkedIn Campaign for Marco meant connecting with the Italian community, creating content that engaged them, and running a mortgage myth-busting webinar in Italian.

Could you do the same?

Maybe not the Italian thing.

But could you concentrate on a niche part of your business on LinkedIn for a while?

You could tailor your message, target market, and content to a particular tribe and build a purpose-driven campaign.

Need help? Just ask.

P.S. We’ve got a LinkedIn workshop coming up that helps you nail your message and build a campaign. Message us if you’d like details.
