I understand we all have things to say and naturally want to relate to others. But when someone opens up to you, listen, validate and hold space before you jump to you.

If your first response is, “Omg, I went through the exact same thing…” and you immediately start talking about your own experience, you’ve shifted the focus away from them and shut down the opportunity for connection.

Learn to listen without making it about you. That’s where real connection is built. 🤍
