In late 2021, the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) appointed FreightConnect, a consortium led by Laing O’Rourke and including FKG Group, as the preferred contractor for the Central Civil Works Program.

The Central Civil Works Program comprises upgrading approximately 85km of track between North Star in New South Wales and Whetstone in Queensland. It also includes upgrading approximately 13km of existing track south of Moree and constructing approximately 2km of new track north of Moree.

The Works are allowing for future connections to Goondiwindi and the broader region. It follows the existing track north from North Star before crossing Bruxner Way and the QLD/ NSW border to join the existing Queensland Rail line.

Registration of Interest Opportunity

Businesses interested in supplying to the Central Civil Works Program as subcontractors, suppliers or equipment providers are encouraged to register their interest in upcoming supply opportunities via ICN Gateway.

Registrants should note:
β€’ A complete, up-to-date and accurate ICN Gateway company profile is required in order to register interest. Click here to create a new profile or to login to an existing profile on the ICN Gateway.
β€’ This is an initial Registration of Interest (ROI) to supply to the Central Civil Works Program.
β€’ Incomplete registrations may not be considered. Information on how to create a company profile or submit a ROI on ICN Gateway is provided here.
β€’ All ROIs will be provided to ARTC and FreightConnect.
