The cellar-door is situated in the former Seppelts Winery which was built in 1912. The Martin family, headed by Fernando and Jeanette, purchased the old Dorrien winery from the Seppelt family in 1984, officially opening it as Chateau Dorrien on 13 January 1985. In 1990 the family purchased Twin Valley Estate at Lyndoch and moved the
winemaking operations of Chateau Dorrien to the Twin Valley site

. All the Chateau Dorrien / Twin Valley and Falcons Nest group of wines are sold at the Chateau Dorrien winery building in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Fernando Martin is a third generation descendant of an Italian wine and liqueur making family. Together with talented winemaker Ramon (Ray) Martin, the father and son team create fabulous Honey Liqueurs, Fortifieds, Red and White Wine, dedicating themselves to considerable effort to produce handcrafted products of medal winning quality and consistency in the family boutique winery.

Happy Sunday, all, and today, we're in the past of the beautiful w**e region of the Barossa Valley, South Australia.

The original photograph of this edited and colourised picture was taken in approximately 1926 and is called "Dorrien W**e Cellars" (B 69038). The photo is from the State Library of South Australia, Barossa Collection. The unedited black and white picture can be found in the comments.

The library provides the following summary, "Grapes being delivered by horse-drawn carts to Dorrien W**e Cellars (between Tanunda and Nuriootpa). The note on the back reads 'Dorrien W**e Cellars vintage 1926'."

I understand that the Martin family purchased the w**ery from the Seppelt family in 1984 and opened it as Chateau Dorrien on 13 January 1985. It's nice to see history is still being made!
