Auckland recently added 3.45 kilometres of new rail tunnel, and Sydney is preparing to open more metro lines.

As underground transport networks expand, safety remains a critical consideration. In enclosed spaces, a component's performance during a fire is just as important as its day-to-day function.

That's why EN 45545-2 is a key standard for assessing the fire behaviour of materials used in rail applications.

From our range:
🔹 T120R cable ties in PA66V0, tested to EN 45545-2 with results R22 HL2 and R23 HL3.
🔹 KR Series heavy-duty cable ties. The EN 45545-2 certified PA66W version delivers fire resistance, low smoke and toxicity characteristics, while helping meet hazard level requirements.

Where does insulation actually fail? Usually at the joint, in the weather, a few years in.

Two heat shrink lines we keep in depth for outdoor and plant work:

MA47 medium wall
🔹up to 4:1 shrink ratio, adhesive lined
🔹Cross linked polyolefin, rated -55 °C to +110 °C
🔹UV resistant and halogen free
The adhesive flows as it shrinks and protects against humidity and moisture. That is the one for pole tops, pit joints and anything that lives outside.

ADW dual wall
🔹3:1 shrink ratio, glue lined
🔹Same cross linked polyolefin
🔹Flame retardant and self extinguishing
🔹Resistant to chemicals, copper corrosion, fungus and UV.
Built for cable joints and terminations where sealing matters more than size.

Over 10,000 pieces of MA47 are on the shelf in Sydney. Send us the joint size and we will tell you which one to use.

Up to two gigawatts of AI data centre capacity by the end of 2027. That was the number NVIDIA put on its Australian partnerships last month, with AirTrunk, CDC, NEXTDC, Firmus and others named. Transgrid says Sydney is close to full and the next builds go regional.

Every one of those halls, switchrooms and generator yards runs on the same consumables nobody draws: ties, fixings, glands and labels.

What we hold in Sydney for that work:
• DCT11 fixing ties for M6 weld studs, for parallel routing, rated -40 °C to +105°C
• Nylon glands, IP68, UV stabilised, M12 to M63
• T120R cable ties in UV resistant PA66W, -40 °C to +85 °C
• Identification printed to your cable schedule

If your electrical package is on a data centre site this summer.
Send us the bill of quantities and we will tell you what is on the shelf.

Every low-voltage joint in a pit, a garden bed or a light pole base has the same enemy: water 🌊

RELICON Relifix gel joints from HellermannTyton insulate and seal the connection as the shell closes. The shell is thick walled, impact resistant polypropylene and the gel inside fills the joint. No mixing.

Relifix V150 (435-00651) for single cores from 1 x 10mm² to 1 x 50mm².
Relifix V31.5 (435-00650) for three cores from 3 x 0.5mm² to 3 x 2.5mm².

Straight-through or branch, depending on the connector, on PVC, XLPE, PE and EPR cables. For underground, submerged, outdoor and indoor work and in wiring ducts. Rated minus 20 to plus 90 degrees and tested to EN 50393. Unlimited shelf life, so the kit in the van is still good next year. Re-openable for inspection.

Australia's first declared Renewable Energy Zone is being built right now. In the Central-West Orana REZ that means 90 kilometres of new 500 kV line, 150 kilometres of 330 kV, and two new energy hubs at Merotherie and Elong Elong, carrying 4.5 gigawatts from 2028. Beside the wires sits Akaysha's 415 MW / 1,660 MWh Orana battery at Wellington, already operating.

Every substation yard, battery container and switchroom in that build shares one quiet dependency: fixings that survive decades of central west sun, dust and storms.

Three things we hold in Sydney for exactly this:
✔️ T120R black cable ties, article 111-00944
✔️ Coated 316 stainless steel cable ties, rated -80 °C to +538 °C, weather and chemical resistant, with a powder coating that protects the cable
✔️ NG nylon glands, IP68, UV stabilised

📍 We are exhibiting at All Energy on 28th - 29th October, Stand SS151.

If you are on a REZ site before then, message us and we will bring the samples to you.

Australia's naval infrastructure pipeline is creating new opportunities and new engineering challenges.

As projects such as the A$12bn Henderson Defence Precinct and the A$4.6bn Osborne expansion progress, engineers and contractors are designing infrastructure that must perform reliably in demanding marine and industrial environments.

One challenge is how to securely route and support cable runs without drilling, welding, or modifying structural steel.

Our marine and industrial cable management range is designed to help address these requirements, including:

✔️ Heavy-duty edge clips that attach directly to structural steel without drilling or welding.
✔️ 316 stainless steel coated cable ties for corrosive environments.
✔️ Short-circuit rated cable cleats for critical power cable retention.

Designed for defence, shipbuilding, port, and critical infrastructure applications.

If you're involved in defence, shipbuilding, port, or critical infrastructure projects, we'd be happy to discuss cable management solutions for your next specification or installation.

The Final Countdown: Western Sydney International ✈️

Western Sydney International is entering the final stretch. While the spotlight will soon be on passenger flights, thousands of electrical systems need to be ready before that first aircraft takes off.

With cargo operations already underway, attention is turning to 25 October 2026, when the airport is scheduled to welcome its first commercial passenger flights.

For electrical contractors, project managers, procurement teams and industrial wholesalers supporting works across the airport precinct, projects are now moving into critical stages of testing, commissioning, asset identification and handover.

At this stage, quality cable identification, cable management and insulation solutions can play an important role in installation quality, maintainability and long-term asset performance.

Supporting Project Completion and Handover:
🔖 TULT Printable Identification Labels: Clear, durable identification to support traceability, asset verification and structured handover documentation across complex electrical installations.
🔗 EN Certified Cable Ties: Reliable cable management designed to support demanding infrastructure installations and long-term maintainability.
🔥 Low Smoke Zero Halogen Heat Shrink: A safety-focused insulation solution for transport, aviation and public infrastructure applications.
🌡️ PA46 Cable Management Solutions: High-temperature cable management for installations exposed to demanding operating environments.

So why is cable identification so critical in industrial environments?

It’s a question that often comes up when something goes wrong.

In most systems, cable identification only becomes visible when something changes: a fault needs to be traced, a system is extended, or maintenance is carried out years after installation.

Why identification matters:
• It helps technicians quickly understand systems.
• It reduces errors during maintenance.
• It improves safety and uptime.

Clear identification supports safer operations, faster service and long-term reliability, especially as systems evolve over time.

With our expertise in identification solutions, we support you in finding the most effective way to label cables in industrial applications.
