Little Pieces, Big Pride

For Independence Day, the children made their own Tiranga with tiny bits of paper. With every little piece they stuck, they learned about our flag and felt proud to be part of India.

Through pasting, they learned patience and how to do work neatly and carefully. They also learned teamwork as they shared materials and helped each other. Most of all, they understood the value of working together to create something meaningful. This simple activity made them feel a sense of responsibility, creativity, and love for the country.

Independence Day ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณwith Tricolor loose part craft

To mark Independence Day, children participated in a meaningful and creative activity that reflected their love for the nation. Under a large Indian National Flag, they created their own flags on activity sheets titled "India" by coloring the three bands and arranging saffron, white, and green building blocks, with blue blocks placed in the center to form the Ashoka Chakra. This hands-on activity not only helped children understand the significance of the Tricolor and its symbols, but also encouraged creativity, teamwork, and patriotism. The colorful display of little flags was a proud reminder of how young minds are learning to cherish and celebrate the spirit of freedom.

International Tiger Day is celebrated every year on 29th July as an annual celebration to raise awareness for tiger conservation, promote the protection of the natural habitat of tigers and support conservation issues.
Today we acknowledge Tigers๐Ÿ…, their verge of extinction, their fight for survival; taking an important step in raising awareness in the future generation of the threats that Tigers face. Although the children don't fully understand, I feel an awareness, education and child friendly discussion is so important at a young age, teaching and connecting children to their world ๐ŸŒŽ around them.

Our children celebrated the occasion by participating in art and craft activities and sensory bin play, which helped develop their language and aesthetic skills. Let's continue to inspire our little ones to appreciate wildlife and take measures to safeguard these magnificent creatures.

The children extended their farm animal theme with a fun and messy sensory art activity using tractor wheels and mud. They dipped a bright yellow toy tractor into a tray of mud, then rolled it across paper to create unique wheel track prints. The farm setup in the background with animals, hay, and books helped connect the activity to real farm life. Through this, children explored texture, cause and effect, and pattern making while developing fine motor skills as they pushed and guided the tractor. The children really enjoyed this farm animal sorting activity. They took turns picking animals from the plate and carefully counted the legs before placing each one into the correct tray marked "2 Legs" or "4 Legs". Through this hands-on play, they learned to observe and compare animals, practice counting, and sort by a specific attribute. They also built their vocabulary by naming different farm animals and talking about where they live. The activity helped strengthen their fine motor skills, early math thinking, and ability to follow simple categories, all while connecting to the farm theme with the books and farm scene nearby.

We had the sweetest setup today all about life on the farm.
First we chatted about which animals live on a farm and the noises they make. Then the children jumped right into the sensory tray.

During play they named each animal, described the colours, counted how many there were, and noticed who was big and who was small.

This simple tray does so much. It builds early maths, talking and listening, understanding the world, and it sparks creative thinking and imagination. While they explore, theyโ€™re also working on fine motor skills as they move the animals and materials around.

And of course we finished with our own version of Old MacDonald ๐ŸŽถ
