Antisoma Therapeutics, a medical technology company and member of The iQ Group Global, has received a worldwide license from the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University to commercialise the Institute's eRapid multiplexed biosensor technology. NEWS: We are pleased to announce the completion of a clinical validation study showcasing the success of LSBD's rapid SARS-CoV-2 Antibody test.

The results of the validation study, conducted at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University, reported the SARS-CoV-2 Antibody biosensor assay was 100% sensitive and 100% specific using clinical COVID-19 positive and negative human samples, with the results provided in less than 10 minutes.

Engineers at MIT and Harvard University have designed a small tabletop device that can detect SARS-CoV-2 from a saliva sample in an hour. In a new study, they showed that the diagnostic is just as accurate as the PCR tests now used.

NEWS: Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Radio interview by Fran Kelly with GBS Inc.’s Scientific Board Member, Professor Paul Dastoor, from the University of Newcastle. In the interview, Professor Dastoor discusses the mechanism behind the innovative technology:

“The glucose biosensor has the potential to help close to half a billion people around the world… we've been able to develop sensors that we can print using electronic inks that can detect glucose at concentrations that are a hundred times lower than the glucose is in your blood. And that's important because glucose is in your saliva.

What we're able to do is because these things are all based on carbon and biomolecules. Things like enzymes are also based on carbon, we've been able to stir them directly into the transistor ink and then use that right at the point where the transistor is most sensitive. And so, we embed, for example, in this case, an enzyme for glucose, right in the transistor structure. And that's how we get that amazing sensitivity.”
