Shapes and textures play a key role in the design and detailing of this home. A smooth rendered wall from the new extension meets the rough limestone of the existing building, with glass in between that not only brings light into the space but also provides a physical break between old and new. The rendered surfaces further highlight the curves and arches, reinforcing their presence throughout the design.

The rugged texture of the original stone remains, grounded in history, while a refined Mediterranean-inspired addition introduces clean lines, soft render, and deep shadows.

There’s something incredibly rewarding about restoring a heritage-protected terrace home. It’s not just about preserving the past—it’s about carefully weaving old and new to create a space that feels timeless yet functional.
The challenge? Respecting original craftsmanship while enhancing livability. The reward? Seeing intricate details—pressed metal balustrades, ornate tessellated tiles, and classic window detailing—brought back to their former glory. When restoration is done right, it feels effortless, as if the home has always been this way.
