A client came to me a few months ago, frustrated with her social media.

She was posting four or five times a week. Good content, consistently. People liked it, occasionally commented. But no enquiries.

She had started to wonder if social media even worked for her type of business.

When we looked at her posts together, the problem was obvious pretty quickly. Every post existed on its own. Nothing pointed anywhere. No lead magnet. No clear CTA. No next step for the person reading. It was all effort with no direction.

We did not post more. We posted with a plan.

Within a few weeks, she had people landing on her website from social media for the first time in months. The first proper enquiry came in about three weeks after that.

Social media does not need to be complicated. But it does need to be intentional.

If that sounds like where you are at, I am happy to have a look at what you have got. Just send me a message.

One small shift that makes a real difference to how your social media performs:

Give every post a job to do.

Not "I need to post today" — but "this post is going to make the right person want to know more."

That might mean ending with a question. Or mentioning your free resource. Or linking to a blog post that explains it properly. Or being so specific about a problem that the right person reads it and thinks "that is exactly me."

The posts that bring in enquiries are almost never the prettiest ones. They are the most intentional ones.

If you want a simple framework for turning your content into leads, send me an email at [email protected] and I will send it through.

Quick question for you.

When you look back at your last five social media posts — do you know what job each one was doing?

Not whether it looked good. Not whether it got likes. But whether it was moving the right people closer to working with you.

A lot of service business owners are posting regularly but not actually connecting it to anything. The content is there, the effort is there — but there is no thread running through it that leads somewhere.

If your social media stopped tomorrow, would your business notice?

Drop a yes or no in the comments. I am genuinely curious how many people have thought about this.

Your social media is busy. But is it actually working?

There's a difference between posting consistently and posting strategically. Most service business owners are doing the first one. Very few are doing the second.

This carousel breaks it down — four shifts that turn your content from a nice activity into something that actually brings people to your inbox.

Save this for the next time you're staring at a blank caption wondering what to write.

One thing I see on almost every services page I review - and it's an easy fix.

Most service-based businesses open their services page with the name of the service. "1:1 Coaching." "Brand Photography." "Social Media Management." And then straight into what's included.

The problem is that by the time someone clicks through to your services page, they don't need to be told what you offer. They already know. What they need to know is whether this is the right solution for them, right now.

So before your list of inclusions, add two or three sentences that speak to the problem. Something like: "If you've been showing up online consistently and still not getting enquiries, the issue is usually the messaging — not the effort you're putting in."

Name the thing your ideal client is sitting with. Then show them that you understand it.

It doesn't have to be long. It just has to land.

If you want to test whether your services page is doing this, read the first three sentences out loud. If it sounds like a brochure, it's probably time for a rewrite.

If you'd like a fresh pair of eyes on yours before the new financial year, email me at [email protected] — subject line "copy review" and I'll send you the details.

Quick question - and be honest with yourself on this one:)

If you landed on your own website for the first time, as a complete stranger, would you enquire?

Not "does it look good" or "is the information there." Would you feel compelled to reach out?

Most of us haven't read our own websites properly in months. Sometimes years. And in that time, our services have evolved, our ideal clients have shifted, and the copy that made sense when we wrote it no longer reflects what we actually do or who we actually help.

Before 30 June, set a timer for ten minutes and read your website out loud. Starting from the homepage, through to services, about, and contact.

Ask yourself: does this sound like me? Does it speak to the person I most want to work with? Does it make it obvious what to do next?

You'll know within the first two pages whether the copy is doing its job.

Before 30 June, I want you to do one thing.

Open your website. Read your homepage. Not as yourself — as someone who has never heard of you.

Does it tell them what you do, who you help, and why they should get in touch? In plain language? Within about 10 seconds?

If the answer is "sort of" or "I think so", that's worth fixing before the new financial year.

Most website problems aren't about design. They're about clarity. And unclear websites quietly cost you enquiries you never knew you lost.

I've written a quick checklist of the three things worth reviewing before 30 June - website, SEO, and social media. It's on the blog if you'd like a look, the link is in the comments,

What's the one thing on your website you've been meaning to update for ages? Drop it in the comments - I'm genuinely curious.
