It’s international women’s day today and I feel blah 😑. I mean I know some powerhouse women and some amazing ladies who are doing so much for our country and community but I’m so fricken mad.
Endometriosis sufferers were rocked by reports a surgeon might have been taking women’s organs when he didn’t have to. Robbing them.
The gender pay gap is still a thing robbing every hard earnt hour of work for women.
Women are being robbed of the right for justice overseas and in Australia. Women are losing against men with money that seems to buy them protection.
Women are being robbed of their lives so constantly at the hands of their partners or ex partners that it hardly makes the news.
Heck we even were robbed of international women’s day being on Apple and google calendar which it used to always be!
I’m angry about it. We are just all so good at just moving forward and trying harder and looking for solutions, better security better safety plans but it’s not us that needs to change or try harder or campaign for change, it’s the men. We need to flip the script and our mindset because we are going backwards.
But I do want to say I’m so proud of what all the amazing women in my life do on the daily despite this. The brave brave women who fight for their children’s safety and the women who refuse to give up and achieve great things despite all of this. I celebrate you, I just don’t celebrate the reality of what we currently face.
