Behind the development of Light Tower: The Purpose Within...
My name is Asha Honeysett. I am a psychologist by trade and the Founder of Light Tower. It's an honour to share a little of the story that brought meeting you here today, to bare. After the tragic accident that left my father with with less than a third of his prior functioning due to sustaining mass trauma to the brain, it sent my life
on a trajectory. I have spent the last 14 years immersed in understanding what defines someone's quality of life, irrespective of their circumstance. From psychology, to neuroscience, to spiritual teachings, to quantum physics, the answer became bleedingly obvious. The quality of their thoughts, their questions, their interpretations of events, & a willingness to stretch into the unknown. To make meaning of what at first seems completely meaningless. It pains me to tell you, that the part of my father's brain that was severely injured is the part of the brain in charge of flexible, rational decision making, & inhibiting emotional responses. While the past 14 years have been immeasurably difficult redefining every corner of our family's functioning...I am filled with gratitude...because despite my 8 years of formal study, my father is still my greatest teacher in what it is to be human, & what it is to live with inner peace, fulfilment & happiness despite the obstacles. After the privilege of working with thousands of people over the last decade, testing the edges of the efficacy of different strategies, frameworks & human behaviour constructs, 2020 was the catalyst for me to step out from behind the closed doors of serving in private practice & into the entrepreneurial arena where I could serve at a much greater capacity. With the pandemonium that quickly followed the pandemic, more than ever was there a need to share the collection of gems the last 14 years had unearthed for me & my family in finding peace amidst the uncertainty & the knowledge that life was never going to be the same. This gave birth to Light Tower: The Purpose Within. A personal development company that bridges the divide between science & spirituality with custom models of transcendence. More than ever has there been a need to unify concepts that actually make the difference in rising above challenges, and the radical transformational pressures that are upon the world today.
