If your pasture & paddocks are drying off, it is a good time to check how much grazing your horses have available and whether they are maintaining condition. 🌾

Suitable roughage forms the foundation of every diet. When pasture becomes limited, you may need to top up their hay or add more fibre to the bucket, depending on what you are already feeding.

At QPD Toowoomba, we have a range of fibre options available, including Relax Nutrition Super Fibre Plus and Super Fibre Complete, chaff from Belvidere Ridge Chaff and MultiCube Stockfeeds Pasture, Lucerne and Teff & Lucerne Hay Cubes.

You will also find compressed lucerne and oaten hay, FeedRight Haylage and other high-fibre feeds, like QPD Lucerne Pellets and QPD Fibre Plus to suit different horses and feeding routines.

Take a look through the images for some of the options. The right choice depends on your horse’s condition, workload and the rest of their diet. Introduce new feeds gradually and follow the feeding and soaking instructions.

Call in and see us at 222 McDougall Street, Toowoomba, and remember you can pick up your feed through our convenient drive-through.

How lucky are these three? Plenty of room to graze, good company and by the look of them, they have heard their owner getting the dinner buckets ready with QPD Hobby Mix. 🐑

If you have got more than just sheep to feed, QPD Hobby Mix is a handy supplementary feed to have on hand. It is a blend of grains and chaff, contains a minimum of 12.5% crude protein, and is suitable for sheep, cattle, goats and other livestock.

Feed it alongside plenty of pasture, hay or other suitable roughage, with fresh water always available. Introduce any new feed gradually and adjust amounts to suit the animals you are feeding.

Find QPD Hobby Mix at QPD Toowoomba or ask your local QPD stockist across Queensland and Northern NSW.

There is nothing complicated about QPD Lucerne Pellets: they are made from 100% Australian lucerne, with no added grain or soy. 🌱

They are an easy way to add lucerne’s fibre and natural protein to the feed bucket, and can be soaked if your horse prefers a softer feed. As with any feed change, please introduce them gradually and feed them as part of a balanced diet.

Find QPD Lucerne Pellets right here at QPD Toowoomba, 222 McDougall Street, or ask your local QPD stockist across Queensland and Northern NSW.

With dry conditions continuing across parts of southern Queensland, plenty of paddocks are starting to show it. It is a good time to keep a close eye on stock condition, especially cows approaching calving or with calves at foot, along with young stock that are still growing.

If available pasture is no longer enough to maintain condition, QPD Stock Ration can be used as a supplementary feed for cattle, sheep and goats. Made from a blend of grains, lucerne, cottonseed meal and molasses, it contains a minimum of 13% crude protein.

Stock Ration should be introduced gradually and fed alongside adequate pasture, hay or other suitable roughage, with clean, fresh water always available.

Find it right here at QPD Toowoomba or from your LOCAL QPD stockist across Queensland and Northern NSW.

School holidays are nearly here, and these warmer days are a good reminder to check your chook pen. 🐔

If the drinker is getting hard to clean, the feeder has seen better days, or you are setting up a new pen, pop into QPD Toowoomba. We have poultry drinkers, feeders, laying boxes and plenty of feed options to have a look at.

Heading away over the holidays? Make sure someone can check on your chooks, top up their water and feed, and collect the eggs while you’re gone.

Find us at 222 McDougall Street, Toowoomba. Drive through and we’ll help you find what you need.
