From the page to place.

For Master Builders Queensland’s Toowoomba office, an existing building was reimagined as a contemporary workplace and member hub – with a completely new layout, improved accessibility and a stronger connection between the building and the street.

There’s something rewarding about looking back at the drawings and seeing those decisions now taking shape in the finished space.

From early concepts and documentation through to construction and completion, each stage plays its part in bringing a project to life.

They're the places we work, learn, access healthcare, run businesses, make things, meet and come together.
That's why we've never been interested in designing just one kind of project.

Across Toowoomba, the Darling Downs, regional Queensland and beyond, we work across residential, commercial, industrial, health, education and community projects.

Each has its own purpose and role to play in the places we call home.

A new home base for Biggenden’s rural fire volunteers.

Officially opened in September, the new Biggenden Rural Fire Station brings operational, meeting and training spaces together for more than 100 local volunteers.

Our Building Design centred on the needs of the brigade, creating a practical base for the people who use it and the work they do.

Once a building has been lived in, worked in and experienced through everyday use, the purpose behind the design comes into focus.

The real test comes in the way people interact with the spaces. How the building supports the way they live or work. How the details perform over time. And how the decisions made throughout the design process carry through in practice.

Often, the most meaningful perspective comes from the people who experience it every day.

You can learn a lot in a classroom, but in our experience some things make more sense when you see them being built.

Each year, we welcome local students into StruXi for work experience, giving them a look at Building Design as it actually happens.

They get to see real projects taking shape, sit in on the conversations and decisions behind them as well as ask plenty of questions as they go.

We do it because if you want young people to understand what a career in Building Design can look like, sometimes the best thing you can do is open the door and let them see it for themselves.
