Another World Famous Pie Review 🥧 Bird’s Bakery in Cohuna absolutely delivers with their plain pie. The pastry and gravy were top notch, real craftmanship and came out at the perfect smashable temperature, gone in 60seconds. The crust could have been a touch crispier, but honestly that’s a minor note against an otherwise delicious pie. The staff were fantastic too, friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re passing through Central Victoria. Great value @ $6.70 4 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ rating.

The Crow Eater Pie Floater
Finally, I got to try South Australia’s famous Pie Floater—a pie of your choice smothered in pea soup. I went with the chunky beef pie, and after hearing about these for years, my expectations were pretty high.

The pie itself was excellent. It had generous chunks of beef, solid pastry, and at $7.20 it’s fantastic value. They had heaps of different pies to choose from, so there’s something for everyone.

The pea soup, though, just didn’t live up to the hype. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it was a bit of a letdown.

Next time, I’ll skip the swim and just grab the pie on its own. I can only give this one 3 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟

Another world famous Pie review, this time from The Glen Bakehouse in Glengarry in Gippsland.
I absolutely smashed this pie! Great value at $7.50 and worth every cent. The filling was a rich gravy and chunky pieces of steak with a great meat-to-gravy ratio, and the pastry was beautifully golden and crunchy. Served at the perfect temperature, so it was ready to eat straight away. Delicious, great value, and definitely worth pulling over for. Highly recommended!

Another instalment of my now world famous Australian Country Pie Reviews!
This time I stopped in **Riddells Creek, Victoria**, and with the plain beef pies sold out, I had to pivot to the **beef and curry**. As I said in the video, it turned out to be a pretty good decision.

On a cold Victorian winter’s day, this pie really hit the spot. The pastry was beautifully crunchy, and the curry flavour was perfectly balanced and evenly distributed through the beef filling. Every bite delivered plenty of flavour without the curry overpowering the meat and you guessed it a smashable temperature.
Overall, it was a tasty pie and definitely worth pulling over for. If you’re passing through Riddells Creek, it’s well worth the stop.

Another Country Pie Review I hope you enjoy!
The Portarlington Bakehouse:
For just $6.50, this pie is outstanding value for money. The pastry was absolutely spot on – crisp, flaky, and cooked to perfection at a smashable temperature. As you can see it has generous chunky pieces of beef, exactly what you want to see in a quality pie.

The beef-to-sauce ratio was nailed perfectly a with delicious gravy.

A great pie at a great price. An easy 4 stars from me. Get down to Portarlington, they do delicious Vanilla Slices.

Another country Pie review!
Don’t blink you will miss it, The Platy Pie Community bakery @ Mount Compass in the Adelaide Hills. It’s a tiny little bakery that packs some punch. There’s something about a square plain beef pie that just hits differently, and this one absolutely delivered. Great size for the price at $6.50 and packed with flavour from the first bite to the last.

The pastry was thick, but in a good way, a solid texture with a nice crunch without being too heavy. Inside, the gravy had a beautiful rich flavour and the mince was perfectly balanced, not too sloppy and not too chunky.

Best of all, it came out at that perfect smashable temperature.

Overall taste was outstanding. Easy 4 🌟 from me and I’ll definitely be back for another.
