InfoBite: What changes for DVA card holders on 1 July 2026.
If you already have a White Card:
Nothing changes. Your card continues to work exactly as it does now. Your accepted conditions, your NLHC mental health coverage, your RPBS prescriptions — all of it continues without interruption.
If you already have a Gold Card:
Nothing changes. Your coverage, your entitlements, and your payments all continue. You don't need to do anything.
What IS changing — and who it affects:
From 1 July 2026, veterans whose conditions have only been accepted under the DRCA (Defence-related Claims Act) gain new pathways to Gold Card eligibility under the improved MRCA.
Previously, DRCA-only veterans couldn't access the Gold Card through MRCA thresholds. From 1 July, they can — if they reach 60 impairment points under GARP M, or qualify for the Special Rate Disability Pension (SRDP).
If you're a DRCA veteran and you've never had your impairment points assessed, or your assessment is out of date, this is worth reviewing before or after 1 July.
