One of things we pride ourselves on is our support for other local businesses & organisations.
We have long been supporters of Sam & Aline & their business Outer Limits Adventure Fitness, most notably their trial runs & Paluma Push..
This weekend we supported Sam & Queensland National Parks in the clean up of the Under the Radar Trail at Pallarenda.
Sam provided his expertise & the volunteers.
We provided the brush cutters.
They provided the brawn.
The trails will re open next week.
In the meantime if you are after an adventure next weekend, Sam & Aline will have their trail run at Maggie Island.
Locals supporting locals. That’s a huge part of our business.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.
With regards to the successful Water Lettuce removal project at Idalia Lakes, we think these 3 pictures speak volumes.
Some interesting statistics from the project:
1) approx 835 cubic metres of water lettuce harvested — roughly the volume of a house
2) 300–335 wet tonnes of plant material removed from the water system - this equivalent to 56 African elephants
3) 98–99% removal achieved — well above the 95% project target.
In the coming weeks, as the ecosystems in & around the lakes adjust & regenrate, the community may notice some funky smells on the shoreline & the water surface may look patchy with a variety of floating materials (all natural) & a small algal bloom in the Northern Pond. These are all very positive signs of nature repairing & returning to normal. They will settle in a couple of weeks.
Already we’ve seen an increase in bird life, native fauna & insects returning to the area.
Thank you to our team whom worked with great professionalism on this project, to the community in Idalia for their positive support & feedback, & finally to Townsville City Council for their engagement of Ausfield Services.

We are often asked if we work outside of Townsville/Cairns/Port Douglas.
We most certainly do!
We have the capacity & flexibility to work all around Queensland.
In the coming weeks we will have a crew of highly skilled staff, undertake a revegetation & regeneration project at a solar farm in Bundaberg.
Everyone (& everything) is packed & hitting the road, for what is a very challenging, but exciting project for us.
Safe travels guys - we can’t wait to hear the tales & see your photos.

Ausfield Services is proud to be delivering aquatic w**d harvesting works at Idalia as part of Townsville City Council’s nutrient harvesting program.

With water lettuce (Pistia stratiotes) covering large areas of the wetland system, our team has been working hard to remove large sections of the w**d and restoring water flow and ecosystem function.

This project sees the deployment of a 20T and 5T excavator, skid steer and support buggies to efficiently harvest and remove material under challenging wet conditions.

It’s great to be part of a project that supports long-term environmental outcomes for our local waterways.

We have some seriously talented & skilled staff & operators at Ausfield Services. No where is this more evident at the moment than with the crew restoring & rehabilitating many of the walking trails on Castle Hill.
According to Owner & Director, Owen “These pics do not do justice to the hair raising, arse clenching, big balls mission to get that machine to where it is..I walked where this digger tracked and it was hard enough to do that!!”.
Huge shout out to the crew - Greg, Sheldon & Kieran. We love your work (& photos).
