Folks, it might be time to say it again.
Please, do NOT buy a piano from Marketplace.
Why?
1) Most of them are junk & need to be fully rebuilt.
2) There is a small percentage of them that aren't in the number one category & still need a lot of work to make them playable.
3) The very odd one that makes it through cats one & two, even though you think it's a gem & it belonged to someone whose Grandma was a concert pianist AND the previous owner said a tuner told them it was in GREAT condition - do NOT believe them😄 Pay a qualified piano technician to have a look first.
Why?!
Because pianos are JUST like everything else, they wear out, become unserviceable & require maintenance. Most often, the reason someone advertises an old piano online is because it's sat in the corner for decades & hasn't been used, tuned or maintained.
So, in short & at the risk of repeating myself, repeating myself...Save yourself some heartache & a whole lotta time & effort AND make a time that's good for the owner & your piano tech of choice to have a good, long look before diving in.
