Confession time – I’ve been happily married – twice!!
😲
Yesterday 24 years ago was the official beginning of my “cornerstone” marriage -- #1.
It started with a chance meeting -- an introduction by a mutual friend – awkwardness masked by alcohol.
Two years later we were tying the knot, as I’d fallen in love.
He was…
🟩 gentle and kind
🟩 hansom - he had big strong shoulders
🟩 never pressed for more then I was willing to give.
🟩 starting to build his own business on the land
🟩 from a great family who welcomed me warmly
🟩funny & more outgoing “on the grog”.
🟩someone with whom I could see raising a family together.
❌❌But somewhere in the midst of raising 4 children and building businesses we lost each other.❌❌
So... in the beginning of 2022... I decided to fall in love again.💓
He is…
🟧 more self-assured – is prepared to ask for what he wants (& needs from me.)
🟧 10+ years sober (he decided that alcohol didn’t offer what he was seeking any more)
🟧 a man who bought me dancing lessons for our first Christmas together
🟧 incredibly practical & yet the first to consider infinite possibilities
🟧“The Man” & hope our boys become for the women in their lives.
🟧 “The Only Man” that will ever love our daughter as completely as she should be!
🟧 hard working but truly understands that love is spelt T – I – M – E!
🟧 courageous and truthful – he has trusted that this brings freedom & Joy!
Yes, I have enjoyed two marriages -- but to the same man!!
As we changed and evolved from a “cornerstone” marriage; one that started the foundation of our lives together, we had to be prepared to grow, learn and change.
In our life partnerships we have counter disappointment and disagreement with forgiveness and repair.
If we do, what starts out as the “cornerstone” can grow into the “capstone” of our lives!
Something that sits atop both lives as a monument to what you have built together.
This is what we want to help all busy working couples build!!
