If you are looking for a bit of a cultural experience, there is an art exhibition going around Aus and will arrive in Townsville in November. Townsville writers will be doing a spoken word, short stories/poems on the night. Its free but seats are limited.
Im doing a story poem of a 16 year old Irish girl whos parents die from starvation in 1847, she ends up in the notorious Work House in Dublin, then shipped to Australia in 1848 to become a servant but is abused to the point of su***de.. should be a fun night !
