Update regarding incident at Tyers

Last night (03/09) at 7pm we were paged to support Clydebank Fire Brigade at a structure fire at Airly along with Sale Fire Brigade, Stratford Fire Brigade, Perry Bridge Fire Brigade and Maffra Fire Brigade.

Our BA Support appliance responded and provided breathing apparatus cylinders and face mask washing capability to the fireground.

Yesterday (02/09) at approximately 3:45pm our brigade was paged to support Fire Rescue Victoria at a reported fully involved house fire in Traralgon.

Our Tanker and Salvage appliances responded swiftly with additional support from Traralgon West Fire Brigade being requested for BA operators.

On arrival our crew was tasked to don breathing apparatus and make entry to the building to conduct an internal attack on the fire.

Some great work from crews saw the fire contained to the building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and thankfully all occupants are safe.

- Incident Control
This all forms a part of our preparation for the upcoming fire season.

This morning our brigade was paged to support Fire Rescue Victoria at a large double story structure fire in Morwell along with Morwell Fire Brigade and Traralgon West Fire Brigade.

Our BA Support and Salvage responded and provided BA cylinders for operations as well as 2 internal firefighters.

Other members remained at our station on standby to ensure coverage for the local area with our tanker.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.

A great effort between all agencies involved.

Today marks 2 years since the devastating fire at Morwell Bowling Club. It was a night that saw some amazing efforts from all brigades and agencies involved. We are glad to see the club bounce back in such a strong fashion.

AFAC News has released the Australian Seasonal Bushfire Outlook for Spring. The outlook suggests an earlier start to the bushfire season this year. Drought-affected areas in parts of eastern and western Victoria are facing an increased bushfire risk leading into spring and summer.

Under the forecast conditions, there is potential for multiple large fires starting as early as October across parts of the state.

Now is a great time to start preparing your plan and property, including:

🌱 Mowing long grass
🏡 Clearing gutters.

🔥FLAIM VR TRAINING🔥

This Tuesday’s weekly training looked a bit different to usual, with our crews having the opportunity to train with FLAIM Virtual Reality.

One of the many different options available to our CFA volunteers to ensure they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to combat a range of incidents.
