Learnt something new tonight. I had a strange message from someone via our business messenger.

This person received a call from one of our mobile numbers and was abused by the caller for a traffic incident. This person messenged me to see if it was us. Obviously it wasn't.

But after some research we found these articles. So be aware of these types of calls.

Microsoft officially announced the next version of Windows overnight. Windows 11 is due to be released in early October and is expected to be a free upgrade from Windows 10. It will be the biggest change to Windows in a long time and includes a number of exciting new features. Check out the article below for a quick run down and get in contact with us to find out about preparing your business.

Microsoft's current version of Windows on the market is Windows 10, which would imply that one day a Windows 11 could launch, right? Outlook not showing your email messages this morning? We've had a number of clients report this problem and it is caused by a faulty Office update deployed by Microsoft overnight.

Microsoft are working on a fix that should be released in the next few hours. In the meantime, if you're an Office 365 user, you can use the Outlook Mobile app on your phone or Outlook Web App in your browser to access your email (go to https://outlook.office365.com/).

Further information from Microsoft is below:

Title: Issue affecting viewing email content in Outlook
User Impact: Users may be unable to view email message content within Outlook.

More info: Impact is specific to the Outlook client and users with access to other protocols, such as Outlook on the web or the Outlook mobile app, can view message content in those platforms as a potential workaround while our fix is applied.

Current status: We’ve identified the underlying cause of impact and are applying a fix. This fix will reach all affected users incrementally over the course of the next four-to-five hours. Once users receive the fix, they will need to restart their email client to apply the fix. In some circumstances, users may need to restart their client a second time for the changes to take effect. We expect to complete this process and restore service for all affected users by May 12, 2021, at 3:00 AM UTC.
We encourage affected users who are able to do so to leverage the workarounds described above in the "more info" section of this post while we complete the process of fixing this problem.
Scope of impact: This issue could affect any user attempting to view an email message in the Outlook client.

Root cause: A recent change to systems that facilitate text display management for content within the Outlook client caused impact.

There's no way Jane Fleming could have known an emailed invoice was fake. It came from the right email address and all the business's details were correct — except the bank account number.

Here are some amazing images shot by our Publisher Ned who was in East Gippsland shooting for DELWP to document this day of catastrophic fire conditions. Images showing crews on the ground and the airborne effort shows the conditions these men and women encountered yesterday. All the images showing houses or structures are only posted as these were saved - we dont post images of destroyed structures out of respect for the owners. Some great saves by everyone out there on the fireground last night. First couple of images were shot near Gelantipy, next ones shot in the Ensay Valley area and then down around Sarsfield and Clifton Creek - sorry if names are slightly wrong. The ATO’s “softly softly” approach to Single Touch Payroll will not last long, warns a tax expert, as clients are urged to revisit historical data before the Tax Office catches up to them.

Received this email from a client last week. Quite often the only time we hear from a client is when there is an issue or they are wanting to update something.

So this was a nice surprise:

Hi Eric & Thane,
Just a little email to show my gratitude and say thank you.
Since coming back in November (dodged the hardware upgrade) and things being so full on from the moment I came back it has been an absolute joy that the day to day issues we previously had with IT hardware and poor performance are almost non existent. I’m so grateful for your support. You both do a wonderful job.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Have a beautiful week, Whit :)
